After seeing this TMP post: TMP link I have found that I have to have some 15mm Rednecks to fight my Aliens and Zombies. Does anyone know if any one makes them?

Ambush Alley Games09 Apr 2010 5:52 a.m. PST

Rebel Minis makes some nice Contractors who are wearing civilian clothes and ball-caps. Painted up right, they could look like the good ol'boys from the local Gun Club.

If you want other zombie and alien players to benefit from the answers the Modern gamers give, you should ask Bill to crosspost to SF and Horror.

You could probably find some ragged ACW rebs and old west figures that could be pressed into service.

Check out the battlefield: link

Dan your right, I should have cross-posted it.

JRacel09 Apr 2010 6:19 a.m. PST

My thoughts on this are:

Rebel Minis:
Contractors (As Ambush Alley mentioned – rebelminis.com/15cico.html )
Street Punks (Modify them a little – link )
Zombie Hunters ( link )
Modern civilians (Modify them a little – rebelminis.com/15moci.html )
Rioters (Modify Them a little – rebelminis.com/15mori.html )

Old Glory:
You might try some of the new 15mm Cowboys. Change a cowboy hat here or there to a baseball cap and there good to go.

That would make a great board! A little steep though, pricewise.

Jeff,

Nicely done. Thanks for the ideas and links.

You could use any number of figures in suits.

Well, for certain areas of the US, all you'd need is a different (non-Old West) paint job, but some headswaps would add variety.

I'm actually having some rednecks made, but they are being made as either fleeing or as ragers. It's two men and a woman.

What they are fleeing from will be a secret for a bit longer. grin

Smokey Roan10 Apr 2010 3:05 p.m. PST

I'd like to see more multi use "rednecks" and civilians.

Not so much High Tech assualt rifles and uniforms, rather jeans, t shirts, or camo/outdoors shirts, baseball caps, and civilian weapons, like Mini-14s, AR 15s, sporting rifles and lots of pump shotguns and revolvers. (What they woyld typically have on them in given day. Before they looted the local Class 3 Gun store and armory after Z Day)

Too much emphasis on state of the art military weapons limits their versatility.

Jorts and Cargo pants are even worn in some rural areas down here, (go to a Florida Gators game and you'll find 80,0000 examples) :)

GZG armed civilians are pretty good. You get males and females, with a variety of pistols, shotguns and SMGs. Fairly generic though and not really sporting huge beer bellies, nor are they kitted out for hot weather. Use the GZG heads to get a more boonies feel for them.

"Fairly generic though and not really sporting huge beer bellies,"

Hey, now, not all rednecks have huge beer bellies.

One of my rednecks is quite slim actually, with a sleeveless vest on. He's fleeing (or raging) carrying a six pack of malt liquor. The other is a bit chubby and is wearing a baseball cap and overalls, and is carrying a barbeque fork. The third is a very pregnant young woman in a belly shirt, barefoot and carrying a bottle of Jim Beam.

Smokey Roan11 Apr 2010 10:09 a.m. PST

Khurasan? Rednecks with malt liquor?

Do you realize what you've done?

note to sculptor: "switch malt liquor to
Billy Dee Williams green from the funky 70's series, and sculpt Pabst Blue Ribbon 6 pack for redneck"

Colt .45, don't let the smooth taste fool you, and look out for the Bull!

btw, malt liquor doesn't come in six packs, it comes in 4 packs of 16 oz cans

:) :) :) :)

khurasanminiatures11 Apr 2010 10:17 a.m. PST

Are you kiddin me? You ain't never heard you of schlitz malt liquor or 40 oz Yard Dog?

Smokey Roan11 Apr 2010 12:02 p.m. PST

that's why I posted "Look out for the Bull" (remember that song on their 70's TV ads?) And Billy D used to have hold up the huge can of Colt, and say: Don't let the smooth taste fool you.)

Mickeys was the "Southern" version of those upscale urban beverages. At least, that's what we drank in high school, in those big mouth cans.

Of course, the Cadillac of the adult beverage is the Andre Cold Duck, on special occasions, and MD 20/20 (without which, I wouldn't have had any dates at all in high school :( Well, not "memorable" ones, anyway.)

nvdoyle11 Apr 2010 6:34 p.m. PST

Not so much High Tech assualt rifles and uniforms, rather jeans, t shirts, or camo/outdoors shirts, baseball caps, and civilian weapons, like Mini-14s, AR 15s, sporting rifles and lots of pump shotguns and revolvers.

Like I said in another thread, me and my range buddies. Except swap the Mini14 for AK47s. Went to the range yesterday, and every rifle (of about 20) was either an AR platform or an AK type. No revolvers, all semiautos. Jeans, t-shirts, ball caps almost exclusively.

(Oh, and three or four smoking hot brunettes!)

I'm thinking that a Redneck army for AK47 Reloaded would be apt…

Smokey Roan12 Apr 2010 8:22 a.m. PST

No reveolvers?

Everyone needs a Ruger single carry the negative vibes, of, say, a Five seveN. ;)

I can just hear the DA telling the jury about the AK:

"Self defense? He's used one of them Nine Eleveny guns, like the Al Quedas!" :)

(matter of fact, I have heard that, several times, but in the early 90's it was "…one of them Russian guns the communists use…" (seriously)

But anyway, your gun range buddies are exactly what I mean, just your normal, everyday rifles like ARs and AKs would be great on redneck figures.

. You know, we still play around with M-1 Carbines, Garands, 1950's Simonovs and other WWII rifles a lot. More often than not, the gun that would be with me on a given day is some version of SMLE, and for handguns just a revolver and Makarov.

we need more simply armed good ol boys. :) (pump shotguns!!!!) :)

nvdoyle12 Apr 2010 9:59 a.m. PST

Nope, not a single revolver. There was a good ol' boy next to us who did show up with an SKS – so my initial 'all AR/AK' note was incorrect, I blame the beer – who let my oldest shoot a whole mag through it. It's amazing what a polite 12 year old can get away with at a good range…

Then again, my 'Osprey Elite: Central Indiana Rednecks, 2010' sample is kinda self-limiting. From what the guys at the local store say, there's a LOT of revolvers and pump-action shotguns out there. Then again, up until recently they couldn't keep ARs on the shelves…

Smokey Roan12 Apr 2010 6:19 p.m. PST

I'm hoarding .223s and 76.3x39s rounds. You nhever know, they migtht be used as currency in our future. :)

(everyone selling out their stock as soon as it get's in down here. No 9mm or Five seveN rounds available at any price (which deoesn't effct me). People literallg hang out at the Wal Mart, becuase they got tipped off that the ammo is coming in that day. (it never does, I have seen nothing but angry customers and completely empty ammo shelves there for like a year now.)

The local shops are basically selling at "Day Two, Zombie Invasion" market prices

So, which "rednecks" did you finally end up getting?
