We need shed loads of everything new in 15mm, no kidding. Especially modern buildings and street furniture (my own bugbear). But seriously. Moar! Moar! |

Some of the old Traveller figures that RAFM is bringing back would work very well for such figures, particularly the Space Pirates, Crewmen, Planetary Militia and Guerillas. link Some of Peter Pig's AK47 Republic range would also do nicely, especially the awesome "Hardened Militia" figures. peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm picture |

Ivan, Thanks. However, I found that the PP "hardened militia", though great sculpts with dynamic poses, are just too small when compared to the Rebel Minis, GZG and CMG figures I have been buying. Now, if the AK-47 were to be re-sculpted to today's "larger" 15mm proportions, I would buy them in a millisecond. Also, it seems as though the other PP ranges are not all sculpted to the same size/proportion standards: link The only Rebel Minis range/set I've found to be small, when compared to their other figures, seems to be their Fedayeen. All others in the Rebel Minis line seem to be consistent with each other. link picture Dan TMP link |

I know. I really like this one, but the sculptor will have to accentuate some things on the miniature, for the sake of the average gamer: link link link link Dan |

One pack of the Peter Pig Hardened Militia is female, perhaps they would be usable, since women are shorter on average? |
Lion in the Stars | 18 Nov 2009 11:19 a.m. PST |
I don't have a problem with the Fedayeen's smaller size: You'd be amazed what a good diet early in life does to the average size of people. Do you remember that French blog from Afghanistan, where the writer was commenting about how much bigger the US troops are compared to his unit? |

Lion: "Do you remember that French blog from Afghanistan, where the writer was commenting about how much bigger the US troops are compared to his unit?" Wow. That sounds like an awesome story. I would love to find that. Dan |

I'm going to be playing All Things Zombie in 15mm so I would love to see more civilian survivalist type figures. |

Kyoteblue sent me a PM with the following suggestion: "How about some Guys just standing around weapons slung checking ID's." I kinda like that! Any other suggestions from you guys? Dan |

Wellspring | 12 Dec 2009 9:08 p.m. PST |
I'd say a lot of these can be made through good painting, not necessarily by sculpting new miniatures. With a good paint job, conventional infantry can become scrappy mercenaries, Men in Black can become pimps, lawyers and hostages. I do reiterate my demand for more females in 15mm, MiB's, and Transhuman-style genetailored humans in nanosuits. Special Characters. More minis in freefall poses. Oh and the AV6 and AV9 in 15mm. :) |

Civilians with civilian guns and weapons please! Deer hunters, duck hunters, early outbreak zombie survivors. Survivalists with less than military grade equipment. And yes, more paramilitary survivalists, contractors, MiBs etc. SWAT, sheriff's patrol etc. And absolutely street dress and modern 15mm kipple. |

Well, to answer the OP, 'Yes!' And here's what I'd want: Me and my shooting range buddies in full SHTF homebrewed 'battle rattle'. That's 'tactical' jeans, hiking/combat boots, t-shirt/collared shirt, depending on weather, tactical vest (lots of pockets and mags), pistol on the belt, M4gery in arms. Baseball caps and eyepro. Maybe some kneepads (we're not getting any younger
). Come Zombietime, there'd be a lot of people like that. (But I do have to agree, painting would take care of some of those details
but I'd still like to see more contractor/survivalist types!) |
