I've previewed a line of 15mm sci fi troops in development, the Chewks, on my blog: link |

I want them. I want them ALL. I want them NOW!!! When should I send in my money? Just say when. Now? Now? How about now? Did you say something? Now? Dan |
khurasanminiatures | 20 Jan 2010 9:09 p.m. PST |
So Dan, if I understand you correctly, you don't want them, and you can wait til later? Actually the good news is clibinarium is moving along quite nicely with them and that part of the game will not take too long. The big random question is, how long will they take to be cast? I'm hoping that Spring 2010 is an accurate assessment, early rather than later! |

"So Dan, if I understand you correctly, you don't want them, and you can wait til later?" WHAT!!!!!???? (unintelligible mumbling) Dan |

You know, between you and Rebel, there is just too much good stuff. If you guys keep coming out with all this cool new stuff, I am never going to have a chance to order from GZG. So stop it, stop it now, I say! |
Hrothgar Berserk | 20 Jan 2010 9:52 p.m. PST |
Another interesting race. I like the ugly crab head and claws protruding from the robes. |

Ho Hum! Another set of figs for the 15mm guys. When is Khurasan going to learn that real gamers use 6mm or 28mm figures? Damn it! I will not, will not, will not start another scale. (Anyone want to buy my 28mm SF collection?) |
Cacique Caribe | 21 Jan 2010 12:45 a.m. PST |
Allen57, LOL. Don't sell or give away your 28mm goodies, man. Just "diversify", like I do (keeping my 28mm, while now focusing on getting 15mm). That way, depending on what opponents become available, you run a better chance of having figures in their scale. Dan |
Covert Walrus | 21 Jan 2010 3:30 a.m. PST |
WOOH! Clothed aliens! And with an interesting biology that affects their technology in a significant way . . . I cna even forgive their humanoid appearance for that move. Now, having them in 6mm is going to be a challenge, though . . . |

Look will you stop doing this? I am going to have to sell the kids, work 2 jobs and use all my holiday for painting to keep up with the great output at the moment! Thinking about that – one of the three ideas sounds very good Andrew blog.kings-sleep.me.uk 2mmwars.blogspot.com |

CC, My wife will shoot me if I start buying another scale of figures. I disappear into the basement too often the way it is. |
Grabula | 21 Jan 2010 7:11 a.m. PST |
Khurasan, witht the mention of "drill ships" please tlel me these guys are going to have some "mole mortar" type weaponry
pleeeeeeeease lol. oooh! Also, any idea on when Orca troops might be available? |
khurasanminiatures | 21 Jan 2010 8:46 a.m. PST |
What's a mole mortar? A mortar to kill moles in your garden? If so, and it works, I'll take three! I am making chewkbombers (a mortar), two different crews, if that helps? Orca assault troopers are not on hand yet, they are still swimming over from Spain. Then I have to get them cast

"What's a mole mortar?" Am I the only one who thought it might be a mortar that fires moles? |
Grabula | 21 Jan 2010 11:30 a.m. PST |
"Am I the only one who thought it might be a mortar that fires moles?" MeroMero, you so get me
:D way back when 40K was Rogue Trader, the IG used something called a Mole Mortar – it was a mortar that drilled beneath the ground to reach it's target, instead of flying through the air. I always thought it was an interesting idea but for whatever reason they decided to drop the concept early on.

leidang | 21 Jan 2010 11:52 a.m. PST |
Whoooo
. looks to me like them chewks have got a MG42. Probably had to swap out the receiver to accomadate the fusion ball ammo. Unless it's cold fusion I bet they go through barrels really fast. |
khurasanminiatures | 21 Jan 2010 12:57 p.m. PST |
Leidang, the fusion ball is a chemically propelled round with a self-contained fusion reaction in every round! I prefer to think that the MG42 resembles the Chewkgun. |

Actually 40K still has them, the Death Korps of Krieg engineers use them, available from Forgeworld of course. |

But these ARE 6mm and 28mm figures. They are 10ft tall in 6mm and 2ft tall in 28mm. Its that simple. |

khurasanminiatures | 27 Jan 2010 7:18 a.m. PST |
By the way, here is what the chewkamel is going to look like: picture it will be the beast of burden of the Chewks, about the size of an ox, perhaps just a bit bigger. It will be part of the chewkannon set. The chewk heavy gun is a fusion cannon usually mounted on battle stations on the drillship, but like in the navies of the colonial powers, the cannon is sometimes dismounted from the large vessel and put on a wheeled carriage so that in can directly support the infantrychewks. In order to move it, the chewks employ chewkamels. So there will be a gunner, a loader, a chewkamel, and a chewk holding the reins of the chewkamel. |

Progress has sort of stalled out the past few weeks. The line is about half done though. The good news is that it looks like I'll be moving ahead with the chewk drillship, with its boom cannon extended. Have sent specs to a rapid prototyper and am waiting to hear back on them. It will be depicted sticking out of the ground, having just risen for a surprise attack. |
