Example -
I'm not necessarily interested in reading this book:

However, check out the details on the cover art:

When I saw that book cover, I was inspired to buy PA figures (scavenger and desert types) and all sorts of other goodies.

Also, the idea of a "Children of the Second Revelation" immediately made me think of GW Tallarn (for 28mm) and Rebel Minis' Sahadeen (for 15mm), even though one thing doesn't really have to do with the other:

What about you guys? Has the same thing happened to you?

absolutely!

The Michael Whelan artwork for 'John Carter' series by ERB got me back into VSF, even though the stories are a bit 'dated'…and yet I've picked up other paperback books, comics and even CD's/movies based on the 'cover art/images'…

They have to have really cool spaceships, robots, alien beasties and/or sexy/clothing-challenged babes with HUGE 'tracts of land' etc….

Surprisingly…I have actually run into some older 'pulp sf' that has cover art RELATED to the story inside the book but un-suprisingly, usually NOT a major plot point!

Still, whatever 'inspires' and with GOOGLING…you can find a lot of pulp sf&f comic and book covers to 'inspire' and get ideas for figures or even plot lines from (especially if you get both the front and BACK cover with 'summery/teaser')..

Slish!

Hahaha at first I thought that was some sort of sci-fi Gulliver's Travels. Look out – GIANT WOMAN WITH A RIFLE!

Darthfozzywig,

LOL. I had to open up the link to see what you were talking about. But then I could not stop laughing.

Dude, you've ruined it for me. Now I can't look at it the same way ever again.

I don't know Dan, a rough measure shows her to be closer to 65-70' :)
