What 15mm figures would look like the resistance fighters 2:40 minutes into this T3 clip? YouTube link Or like these in T2? YouTube link Or these from T1? YouTube link I haven't seen T4 yet, so don't know if they have departed from that general look, or if these are just kids that are not really part of the organized T4 resistance troops: YouTube link CC PS. I just saw T-4. It was part of a 3 picture bill at the local drive-in. Transformers, Terminator 4 and Star Trek. We spent about 10 hours there. :-D Best drive-in set of movies we have ever been to. I am gaming Man vs Machine wars in 15mm and 25mm. In 15mm for resistence I am using a mix of figs. I like the Free Cal-Tex Gzg figs. Then again, using a mix of Rebel Mini's, Gzg and even some modern infantry would work. Some of it probably depends on what part of the war you are fighting. Earlier they probably look more like Modern US infantry. Thanks, John |

John, Which figures would you use for "2029 AD", when they start wearing the post-modern stuff and using more advanced weaponry*? Or is that when you use the GZG Cal-Tex troops? What about GZG NAC troops? Or the Rebel Minis "Hard Top Troops"? Or the Rebel Minis "Sahadeen"? I'm so confused!!! CC * Though I don't quite understand how the machines would allow them to resources and technology to come up with newer and better weapons. And, I would think, any weapons taken from the machines would not be suited for use by humans. Or, maybe, I'm over-thinking this. |
M1Fanboy | 04 Jul 2009 9:48 p.m. PST |
I am planning on using the GZG militia for the resistance fighters
They look close enough to the 2029 model and for earlier, you can supplement with moderns and others to taste. |
Cacique Caribe | 04 Jul 2009 10:55 p.m. PST |
M1Fanboy, I guess I'll have to check out those packs then. Thanks. CC |
John Leahy | 04 Jul 2009 11:20 p.m. PST |
Hey CC. Yep, for the earlier stuff my Rebel Mini's and Old Glory modern figs will work. Later War could be NAC, Rebel Minis Sahadeen and Marines, Gzg Islamic infantry, OUDF, Free Cal-Tex and maybe NSL troops. It really depends on what you want. Based on the last Movie I believe that there are pockets early on of decent sized Resistance groups. Once Central Command is removed for the Humans who really knows. I figure that much of the production is underground. The vast massses of humans are no longer easy targets. The Rebels seem to posess adavnced weapons. I'd guess the tech does come from the Machines for the most part. Then converted for human use. I really don't try and think about the background that much. :-D The core concept is cool so I'll put some toys on the tabletop. My biggest concern is whether to do it in 15mm or 25mm first. Thanks, John |

Peter Pig French Foreign Legion from the AK47 range with WW2 German Combat Cap headswops. OR QRF US Rangers in soft caps. Some of my favourite figs for Sci Fi gaming. Cheers Mark |
Cacique Caribe | 05 Jul 2009 1:44 a.m. PST |
Mark, Wow. I had never seen those QRF Rangers!!! They look so clean. link Placing my order on Monday. Thanks so much. CC |
Dropship Horizon | 05 Jul 2009 2:34 a.m. PST |
No probs CC! The figures themselves look natural – like real men – they make great Sci Fi rebels, militia, armed security, police/paramilitary, resistance fighters, armed ships crew – or Rangers. Cheers Mark |
M1Fanboy | 06 Jul 2009 12:45 p.m. PST |
DH, I am going to have to get packs of both for my sci-fi stuff
the French idea sounds particularly fun! |

I can't wait to get my QRF rangers order. Hope it comes in soon. CC |
John Leahy | 28 Jul 2009 6:20 a.m. PST |
I have to wait a little while since my last order from Gzg. The freebies were great. I have gotta get some of the newer stuff from Rebel Mini's first! Thanks, John |

Guys, I just got the US Special Forces and US SWAT from Rebel Minis and, looking at the detail up close, they look perfect for the years immediately following Skynet's awakening day: link link link link CC |

OK guys. I think I've got the right mix. Here's my "15mm Immediate Post Apocalyptic – Terminator Resistance Troop Formula" 1) Get a friend to combine funds, order and then split the following sets: 2) Rebel Minis * US Special Forces * US SWAT link link * Contractors rebelminis.com/15cico.html * Bio-hazard zombie hunters * SAS Elite Team rebelminis.com/bizohu.html link * Modern Insurgents * Armed Gunmen rebelminis.com/15moin.html link 3) QRF * US Delta Special Forces * US Ranger Squat Soft Caps link What do you guys think? "1) Get a friend to combine funds, order and then split the following sets:" Of course, that's only if you want to end up with a smaller force with unique poses (no duplicates). CC |
Cacique Caribe | 30 Jul 2009 10:19 a.m. PST |
I am not too familiar with modern firearms. But thanks to some very kind people here on TMP, I now know what the figures in each of those sets carry as firearms. Here it is: TMP link CC |

As for female troopers, I may have to do quick sex change operations (breast enhancement actually) on some of the more slender figures . . . TMP link CC |
Dropship Horizon | 31 Jul 2009 3:35 a.m. PST |
What exactly are you looking for C.C.? This: picture or this: picture The two are distinctly different types of women combatant and the former I wouldn't classify as 15mm military per se. The 1AD soldier apart from height would probably be indistinct from male colleagues in 15mm under cammies, helmet, armour. I would certainly like to see the likes of Hasslefree's Kendra and McKenzie in 15mm for Sci Fi/Near Future games even as part of mixed male/female packs of troopers. Cheers Mark |
Cacique Caribe | 31 Jul 2009 3:53 a.m. PST |
Mark, A good mix of both types would be great! Type 1 For the "paramilitary" or survivalist type in your first link I don't have anything yet. This would be nice too: picture link A couple of these might work for now: link link picture peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm But we must have more survivalist-types (guys, girls, and even teens and kids) in 15mm!!! picture YouTube link Type 2 However, for the actual female troops like your second link, I'm thinking of adding longer hair to some of the "smaller" military figures I already have. What do you think? It would be for troops 5-15 years into the resistance, so following strict hair regs would be the least of their problems. "I would certainly like to see the likes of Hasslefree's Kendra and McKenzie in 15mm for Sci Fi/Near Future games even as part of mixed male/female packs of troopers." No kiddin' bro. A 15mm version of Kendra and Mckenzie would be fantastic: link link link CC |
Dropship Horizon | 31 Jul 2009 4:18 a.m. PST |
Hey CC picture Oh Hello! In best Terry Thomas accent! Rebels' female survivalists are very nice! You will then definitely want the female from GZG's SG15-A10. If you like your females to look like former Soviet Union Olympic shot putters then I have some of the older GZG NAC 'females' (shudder) I can post to you. You may want to consider Peter pig French Foreign Legion in Berets. Nice minis who look futuristic and can have their berets easily replaced by post-apocalypse hair styles. I still vote for Hasslefree McKenzie and Kendra though! Cheers Mark |
Cacique Caribe | 31 Jul 2009 4:33 a.m. PST |
Mark, How do the Peter Pig figures compare in size to the Rebel Minis and QRF figures? CC |
Dropship Horizon | 31 Jul 2009 11:21 a.m. PST |
Hi CC I have the Rebel LA SWAT Team but not the Spec Forces. The SWAT team leader in sharp haircut and sunglasses makes a great John Connor! The Piggies are smaller by female proportions, the FFL being slimmer due to their lack of kit by comparison to the Pig USMC. The Piggies are again smaller and slimmer compared against QRF's Rangers in caps. Cheers Mark |
Cacique Caribe | 31 Jul 2009 12:21 p.m. PST |
Thanks Mark! I had a feeling that Peter Pig figures would be a tad smaller. I had the Rebel Minis US SWAT, but not their LA SWAT. I'll have to get those too then. Dan |
Dropship Horizon | 31 Jul 2009 12:54 p.m. PST |
I love the LA SWAT figures. Good poses – including a great figure at the 'Ready Carry'. To be honest, the size differences are only noticeable close up – 1-2 feet. Cheers Mark |

And, I would think, any weapons taken from the machines would not be suited for use by humans. Or, maybe, I'm over-thinking this. In typical post-apocalyptic style, "the world" always seems to consist of the US and Russia. SkyNet only physically existed in the US. Although the rest of the world got bashed around a bit on Judgement Day, they didn't have to put up with the Termies. Given how a lot of high-tech manufacturing has sprung up in the developing world, it's actually not surprising. The T2 book mentioned that the resistance got most of its supplies and a lot of volunteers from South America. |

Yeah, gotta order some of these. Funny thing is that I recently finished up a lot of my Machine and Rebel figs in 25mm. Copplestone/Em-4 machines and Copplestone Rebels (military and scavenger figs). Throw in some vehicles and aircraft for both sides and boom. You have a game. ;-D Thanks, John |

Holy thread necromancy, CC! I think I'll be re-purposing my GZG NAC for 2029 resistance. Plus they have handy technical gunners which you can plonk in rusty old pickups! |
