So, which Terminator resistance period do you prefer, for gaming purposes? A) The early years of the resistance (up to, and including, what is depicted in "Terminator: Salvation"). John Connor is an adult, but just a grunt or a lower ranking member of the resistance. The resistance is still in its infancy, but the machines have not evolved their firepower, nor the terminator units that later end up doing time travel. Troops don't have a uniformed look. picture YouTube link ; or B) Later, when John Connor is in full command of the resistance forces (as shown at the beginning of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day"). The resistance forces are fully developed as an army, but the machines have evolved considerably too. link YouTube link YouTube link Thanks. Dan TMP link |

How about both. We don't have much info on the latter part of the war. I'm flexible. |

John, I would love to do both too. However, there don't seem to be very many figure choices for the later (the uniformed) resistance troops. Therefore, I am finding myself buying modern figures that I can mix with some Post Apocalyptic types (which seems to be the norm with the early resistance period). link link Dan PS. Check out what some people are doing with action figures: link link |

I thought that the future in Terminator, T2 and T:S was different in each film as Sarah and John Connor and, uh, Claire Danes had changed it several times. The future bit shown in the first movie was the most striking one. T:S was not as dark and looked a bit like Fallout, which is cool too :) |

Well, either way, there has to be an early period (immediately after nukes) and one later, once the humans are sufficiently ready and organized to get the upper hand. The early period would still be a very loose mix of military, armed civilians, survivalists and mercenary types. I'm sure that, aside from fighting the machines, they would have to fight some nasty scavengers too. After all, we are talking about the years immediately following a major nuclear exchange. The later resistance movement would be more unified, but the machines would be more advanced: YouTube link YouTube link Dan link |

The earlier period, probably just a little later than T:S up to, and just after the introduction of the governator models. From the point where you have liquinators and nanonators, it gets too unfun. With shape changers I think it becomes a role-playing game with very tedious scenarios, and with nanonators, they will have every kitchen mixer and cordless drill attacking. The earlier period opens the range of things that you can do with the resistence, figure types, human vs human, vehciles, aircraft, etc. The later you get, the more uniform the humans are (i.e. less interesting), and the limited they are with respect to vehicles and other weapons. I want just surviving the post-apoc world to be as much a part of the game as fighting the omni-evil machines. |

I painted up my Tech Com guys as late period, because I hadn't seen anything else when I painted them. Em4 has some "Security" figures in baseball type covers (hats) that do vey well has tech com figures. I then mixed in a bunch of Copplestone modern figures with them. Em4 also makes the best Terminator figures. I was really happy with the movie "Terminator Salvation" as it gave me several scenarios to run. I love the air assault from the opening sequence. |

I think the reaper cyber reavers link are actually closer to the mark. I only discovered them recently and actually own the EM4 ones, which are very nice as well. I also have a T:S T1 and hunter killer air ship toys to use with these guys and a tank and assault/drop ship. I have seen the T:S Harvester toy in the flesh now as well and am tempted as i can see it making for some fun games of Combatzone, with the resistance being played by some players and the Terminator force being controlled by a GM. I am pretty sure that mini wise CC will be looking at 15mm. I hope you kept some of those slurpe harvesters matie, that is prob what i think i am going to use them for, maybe using ASQL. |

The later period, as depicted in the first two films and the TV series; I much prefer the polished chrome and lasers look to the rusty junk-heap look of the most recent film. Gives it more of a "pest control" feel rather than the squabble in a junkyard that was Terminator: Salvation. |

"rather than the squabble in a junkyard that was Terminator: Salvation" LOL. I never thought of T:S as a junkyard squabble! And, even if it was, that's what you'd expect during the initial phase, as the machines start cranking out their first humanoid-looking models to get after the humans hiding in the rubble. I think that a more brilliant way to seek out hidden humans was the robotic snake. And it is certainly in line with what has already been attempted by Japanese and Israelis: link YouTube link YouTube link link link picture link link If that doesn't have a "'pest control' feel", I don't know what else would. Robert, Those are awesome. I'm going to have to try a couple of those, as soon as I get my troops painted (and I get my hands on a few bots). Thanks so much. Dan |

I want to see what happens after the Skynet War is over and done with and Terminators are left on their own. Do they try and rebuild Skynet or do they become petty warlords or noble savages? Conan the Terminator anybody ;) |

Your welcome CC. I use the Sacrifice for the lambs scenario whenever I've a new wargamer who needs to be shown why scenarios are better then stand up fights to the death. Robert |

And, even if it was, that's what you'd expect during the initial phase, as the machines start cranking out their first humanoid-looking models to get after the humans hiding in the rubble. I never said it wasn't justified. I just prefer the original look. The chrome finish of Skynet's machinery was pretty unique (at least, in my experience). |

Guys, I just found this to add to the list of pics and other images.
From the looks of it, she seems to be from the latter part of the war (when the resistance all start wearing uniforms). Dan |
