Some of the guys tonight was kicking around an alien abduction game. You know the type
Aliens come on down, grab our women and cattle, and take off. Humans have to fend them off. Fun, but its been done. Now
. On my drive home, it got me thinking
. What if the 'shoe was on the other foot'? What if
. HUMANS were the aliens? What if
HUMANS came down to an alien planet, and started to kidnap aliens to take them home for experiments? What if
The aliens had to defend their town from HUMANS from taking their citizens and alien cows? That would be kinda different, don't cha think? Does this sound like fun, or am I way off base on this one? BTW
all in 28mm
(had to get that one in for Cacique Caribe

Sounds like a good twist to me, suitable for inclusion as an episode on The Outer Limits, or The Twilight Zone. Retro human spacemen and spacewomen in aluminum suits would be perfect. Perhaps they've been in space for a very long, long time, and are seeking companionship, barbecued beast, or both

I can see some of the blue moon retro spacefarers with the bubble helmets for this idea. Maybe blue moon will produce a 15mm version of the figs. |

imdb.com/title/tt0762125 The Bluemoon spacefares would be perfect. A 1950's town would work as well. The 'O' Scale Plastiville buildings are Perfect for this: link You could even do head swaps with the Plastiville plastic figures to get Alien civilians. And yes, 28mm is a must. |

I played a Stargrunt game locally (think it was a test scenario for the GZG-ECC con, although I've never seen it there) a few years back where one side was a platoon of human corporate mercs raiding an alien farm filled with geneered xenofauna that produced all sorts of odd drugs as part of their metabolism. The farmers were little grey men with probes and such, and the livestock was a bunch of D&D gorgons for cows. There was something robotic as a guard dog too IIRC. The humans were under orders to recover the animals if possible, if not they'd been giving training for quick-and-dirty removal of the drug glands. As I recall, we discovered that it's much harder to mutilate cattle when they're covered in half-inch thick scales and breathe clouds of hallucogenic gas when startled. :) |

Very cool idea! Included in the free 5150 supplement Illegal Aliens PDF link is a scenario called The Night Terror. It's the Alien story from the Alien's point of view. |

Thomas Whitten may be on to something there, when he suggested this model: link Imagine that Earth spaceship crashing on an Alien Planet and becoming the equivalent of the Roswell incident!!! And any of these RAFM or GZG guys could play the part of the astronauts: TMP link Imagine the Earth astronauts leaving these "crop circles" behind, after getting the dune buggies out of the ship: link Hmmmm. There was a Crusade episode that was a reverse x-files, complete with a cigarette smoking alien, and the Moulder alien waving a picture of mount Rushmore saying "It can't be a natural feature! There must be life there!" |

Would it be different? In gaming terms, it sounds exactly the same. |

Or, what if the aliens land on Earth, to kidnap some humans out in the country, not realizing how well armed, and what crack shots the local citizens are. Perhaps the tables get turned, and the humans decide to hold them for ransom, and/or info on alien technologies

Or how about this? The farmers catch the Greys by surprise and wipe them out, get inside the UFO, unwittingly engage the auto-return and end up on the alien planet. That would give the players a chance to game on an Earth setting and, if the farmers win that encounter, on an alien planet too!!! Dan |

Planet 51 is a great little fun "family" movie, just loved the retro-50s style alien society and especially the Xenomorph "dog" and his battle with the alien postie
. Watch it when you need an evening of light relief, loads of clever little references to bad 50s SF movies! |
