This is a nice, futuristic looking lizardman, so I was wondering if anyone is producing any like these, with Sci-Fi weaponry? picture If not, they should consider making some of them, for some decent opponents for humans, and other factions. I'd love to commission a set, but just don't have the funding available to do it right now. |

Would you be able to tell the difference from a human, once armored and equipped? |
Top Gun Ace | 24 Oct 2010 6:42 p.m. PST |
Of course, since they would go for a scaled armor look. |

There are some grays you could file just a little, paint green, and get that look. Andrew |

15mm.co.uk make saurians Those are the old Asgard Saurians. I remember when they were first released, I had some myself. Not bad models for their day, although even back then the muzzles never looked very reptilian to me, more of a soft mammalian look. Also they have rather dainty legs, not what I consider right for a reptile man but horses for courses! And of course they are nothing like what the OP said he was looking for, which is more scaly, vaguely reptilian humanoid than reptile man. That figure is a copy of a sculpture called the "dinosauroid," and the "Drac" from Enemy Mine is more similar to them than are proper reptile men like the Gorn or the Kleggs. |

"Kleggs"? Who makes those? Dan |
(I make fun of others) | 25 Oct 2010 11:02 a.m. PST |
Um, Klegg mommas? No one "makes" them, they are reptilians from the Judge Dredd universe, just like Gorn are reptilians from the Star Trek universe. Although I do recall Mongoose making one
in 28mm. And ages ago, there was a Klegg made in, I think it was, 54mm scale for a release of some figures for Judge Dredd. |

Not bad models for their day? Most of Laserburn minis look superb even today. For example adventures and stars solders. Very detailed and good sculpted. |

Not bad models for their day? Most of Laserburn minis look superb even today. For example adventures and stars solders. Very detailed and good sculpted. As I said, horses for courses. I'm glad you like the figures. There are two poses and they have different weapons and armour, and poses -- one is standy-abouty while the other is advancing, so they don't really go together. I'm someone who's had the models for about 25 years, perhaps longer than you've been alive, and if anyone should have affection for them, it's me! But I have replaced them as my reptilian warriors. They are also rather crudely sculpted as the pictures make clear (I hasten to add, for those who need it: IMO!). Not bad at all for the 80s but the standard is better now and I have availed myself of it. |

The 15mm.co.uk ones remind me of those giant rats, over-running the southern USA, and Central America, better known as nutria, if I recall correctly. |

If you can find them, there are a couple of sets of old Leading Edge Games minis that would suit you. The Dragoncrest are power-armoured lizard guys. The Larden looked more like the Gorn from classic Trek, but also carried weapons. And, no, you can't have any of mine. :-) |

"And, no, you can't have any of mine. :-)" LOL. I wouldn't dream of depriving you of your minis. However, do you have pics anywhere? Thanks, Dan |
