I've acquired quite a
collection of Rebel Minis zombies and modern military along with some "mall cops".

Taking Ed Teixiera's advice, I've also been collecting HO scale buildings for the scenery. I need military, civilian, and police vehicles to finish out the playing area. Naturally I'd like to do this as inexpensively as possible.

So the question is whether Matchbox, Hot Wheels etc. are HO? I also am looking for 15mm modern vehicles. Can anon point me in the right directing?

Thanx

Well, I use Matchbox all the time. I wouldn't woprry about any slight scale difference. The price is surely right!

Thanks,

John

For civilian and Police I would go with HO 1/87 vehicles. You can get some nice stuff at decent prices.

For military there are a LOT of nice 15mm modern vehicles out there. QRF, Peter Pig, Old Glory, Quality Castings, and others make stuff.

I agree with Jake. I use the HO scale civilian stuff and the QRF Military. Cheap HO Stuff shows up all the time on Ebay.

Best thing to do is head to your local $/£ store, or toy superstore with one of the figures in your pocket then compare them for size that's what I did ;)

Well HO to be honest are too large for scale. I just got back from a model railroad show. I poked around the vender tables and found a few cars that will work very nicely. The brand is EKO they are 1/96 scale. I have seen this brand in the Walters catalog but wanted to see then in person to check for scale. I am looking for europen make and model cars from the 1950's to late 70's and this brand offers plenty of selection. I paid $2.00 USD each at the train show. They list for closer to $4.00 USD each from Walters.

Heh… Too large for scale… When does anyone care about THAT in WARGAMING?

Are the Rebel Miniatures smaller than Battlefront? because I compared them to some Faller HO and couldn't see much difference (maybe the FoW minis were "heroic?) but the HO cars should do nicely in a world where Jada Not-Quite-1/64 cars are being recommended for 20mm and even 15mm.

PS Hot Wheels did make a series of cars in HO, plus anything that may end up in a standard blister because a bus the same length as a subcompact- not quite 1/64 either.

The only real issue is that HO vehicles are incredibly expensive…

Why not paper models? Cars should be fairly easy to make.

Take this Trabant, for example. Perfect for Commie-flavoured zombie games! ;)

Oh and a couple of useful paper models websites…

Don't know how it will look scaled to 15mm though. May be too fiddly for most models.
