If so, could you point me in the right direction?

And, if it's not black, that's ok too. I just didn't know if there were any pre-painted die cast ones out there.

Thanks.

I use Maisto, look around WalMart

Cacique Caribe08 Jun 2009 9:29 p.m. PST

If I recall correctly, the only Maisto ones I've seen are like 1:43, which is more for 28mm-30mm figures.

Do they really have a line suitable for 15mm?

Thanks.

CC, I know the one's Saber6 is referring to, they are the softback variety, Hot Wheels scale.

About 6-7yrs ago, I used to buy them (and other military/quasi-military Hot Wheels & Matchbox), drill out the rivets, strip them down, repaint and reassemble them for selling on eBay.

Hey, it turned a profit at the time… I still have a few laying around in the garage. PM me your email address and I'll send a pic next to a Rebel Mini's Modern 15mm figure.

Mardaddy,

PM sent with email address. I'm definitely interested in the pics!

Thanks.

I can vouch that Mardaddy does great assembly and paintwork.

Hey I am interested in the pics also !

Could you post them on the web somewhere maybe ?

Thanks. :)

Are these Hot Wheels too big or small for 15mm gaming?

We must be working on the same wave length. I have been working on something too and needed the vehicles for modifications.

In my own little world they look good. It's not a matter of the vehicle size it's the size of the figure that changes if it looks right.

Hotwheels for 15mm?? Why not just get one of the many 15mm minis out there?

At .77 you can't go wrong…although the Hummers seem a bit bigger..more like a jacked up hummer, I found the suburbans look closer to 15mm..I bought a fleet of black ones for my "contractors"..I cleared the local Walmarts in my area..

RKE Steve09 Jun 2009 5:33 a.m. PST

I thought hot wheels matchbox was more in line with 20mm? At least the ones I have seem to fit better with my 20mm.

I just didn't know of any of those others.

How's this?

Well, let me see, QRF, Old Glory and Brian all make 15mm Hummers…

Cacique Caribe09 Jun 2009 9:35 a.m. PST

"QRF, Old Glory and Brian"

Thanks. Did not know that.

PS. By the way, "Brian" who?

CPT Jake,

Wow. I guess my search is over. Must get Brian's.

By the way, who made the pickups and Jersey barriers in the pics?

Thanks.

CC

CPT Jake09 Jun 2009 10:23 a.m. PST

The smaller pickup is Peter Pig, the bigger one (I think chevy?) is an HO product, cant remember the company.

The barriers are these:

As you can tell, I think HO stuff works well with 15mm figures especially terrain accesories…

Man, I feel as if this was Christmas all over again!

Thanks so much.

CPT Jake,

Check out these other barriers:

Those are nice. As I expand my 15mm warzone from Dirkadirkastan to the suburbs of the US for some zombie and or terrorist and or gangbanger fun I may have to get some of those….

chironex09 Jun 2009 7:45 p.m. PST

Those HW look like one I have and it looks like it has a bigger footprint than a 1/72 Panzer 1.

Mardaddy09 Jun 2009 8:10 p.m. PST

CC, I just emailed you the pics, I included a 1/72 Revell Modern US figure in there for size comparison also.

Forgot that Matchbox did a diecast hardback – that's included in the pics as well.

Cacique Caribe09 Jun 2009 9:54 p.m. PST

Mardaddy,

Thanks so much for the pics!!! Looking at them right now. Of course the washer base will add a little more – and throw off the proportion perceptions.

Here's what a Humvee should be like in comparison to a typical human:

By the way, I ordered the Humvees that CPT Jake suggested (from Irish Serb), and my wife says they arrived.

She's going to send them to me, as part of a care package. Can't wait to see them.

The Irish Serb ones are absolutely stunning.
