Use hoses, pipes, tubing to show the air/water/sewage flow systems. Tons of stuff for a few dollars at Home Depot/Lowes/etc.. |

I guess that, what I'm really asking is how do I turn this . . . TMP link Into something that looks like this . . . link CC |

Thanks 28mmMan. What should I do with the tunnel walls I already have, leave them as they are or try to cover some of them with plating of some sort? CC |

Wow. This is interesting. Look at the "Morlock Cave" model at the bottom: link picture It is a bit difficult for me to go from drawing to model (my brain is limited that way). However, to see a sample model like that one simply opens up a lot of possibilities for me. I wish these photos showed more of the cave/tunnel system: picture picture link CC |

Morlocks? What are those things in Empire Strikes Back that eat the power cables? |

Good grief, Flashman14! I was beginning to worry. For a minute I thought there were Morlocks in the Empire Strikes Back and that I had, somehow. blocked them out. As much as I like Morlocks (the literary ones described by HG Wells, the ones from the 1960 movie and even the 2002 remake), I would have never forgiven myself for such a memory lapse. CC |

What if you got the pipe bridge set from Armorcast and used that in conjunction with the set you built? |
Cacique Caribe | 07 Jul 2007 1:29 p.m. PST |
Pictors Studio, THANKS. Great idea! It would certainly work: link ironhands.com/hulk2.htm I could try to have the "industrial" pieces and accessories on separate bases. That way, I can still use the cave pieces on their own for other things such as LOTR Moria, SST tunnels, etc. QUESTION: For the "slaughter rooms", should I use the two "chamber-like" pieces I made, or create something more industrial in look? link link link TMP link CC |

Be basis of the Morlock area is that of a tech area that has crumbled over time thru lack of maintanence. I would do a basic layout sketch of a nice new area, then figure to break and corrode the items. Polystrene can be cut and glued quickly to make most of what I was looking at in your concept pictures. Bits of tissue to form the hanging moss or slime and or the grim on the ground around the base of platforms. Then there would be the junk hauled into the area, some of which might be broken pieces from other areas as the morloks, with some dimly remembered lessons, made feeble attempts to repair somethings. Though on second thought they actually probably can fix some of the items such as the air raid sirens, just not pretty. |

I have been watching the History Channel and it's shows on human demise. From what I remember of the first movie, it appeared that technology continued in spite of the Morlocks, although they could throw the switch to operate an air raid siren when they got hungry. Point being, I don't know how Morlocks could continue operating and maintaining technology when it appears they mutated to become de-evolutionary. Let's assume however, that the self-perpetuating technology survived and that although the surface of the earth returned to nature, the underground world of the Morlocks still exists because of solar/wind power energy, Eloi slave labor, and perhaps even dwindling nuclear power. That technology will need to be evident. Therefore, if I were building Morlock tunnels, they would look more like the Holland tunnel or Lower Wacker Drive in decay. |

But all that mechanical stuff underground, even in the degraded state shown in the 2002 film, just looks soooooo cooooool: YouTube link link Dan |
