Being that so many are asking for the skies to get darker tonight
Almost as if to invite creepy aliens to abduct us: darksky.org link Just kidding. Seriously now
Anyone planning to game with their Greys? If so, what setting do you have planned? What figures? What terrain? Suburbia? Or at a farm, with crop circles and everything?

Im not into the abduction concept associated with Greys. I have the set Griffon made. I have used them in three scenarios. 1. Like a Star Trek away team exploring a world. 2. A combat team trying to recover one of their members captured by those pesky humans at Area 51. 3. As a raiding party either capturing a starship or fighting a vermin infestation (ala Space hulk). For terrain I have the Viking Forge Spaceship Corridor sets and a fair amount of both earth and alien flora/fauna for countryside stuff. As I am backing away from 28mm gaming I have not bought any buildings for an urban setting. A friend had the ones we used when the Greys visited Area 51. They were a scratchbuilt hangar and bunker, a Plasticville diner used as an office/lab. |

We played a variant of Rednecks and Revenuers last week in 28mm (Blue Moon Hardfeldts & McCluckys; Foundy & Clix as MIB). Instead of Feds, the bad guys were aliens and their goal was to abduct the rednecks, not their gear
'course the rednecks didn't know that. They also didn't know the bad guys were aliens until the first one died. After that, the Redneck players rapidly caught on to the idea that the "feds" were after them instead of the other two objectives. On the alien side, that made things much harder
it's easy to kill a target; not so much so to capture it. If infected members of the Cult of Dagon count as aliens 9they do have some alien parts in 'em), then that is on the table week after next. Again, killing is easy; abducting hard. And you can't infect corpses (well, you can't for this game
). The alien cultists will be these. |

The 1990's TV series also called Dark Skies was also VERY cool. Almost like X-COM: The Bureau on TV, set in the 1960's, no less. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Skies |

Yes, all anal probing attempts are +2 to your die roll. +3 if you are trying to probe agent Scully. |

I'll eventually be getting aliens from Khurasan and Rebel Minis, and possibly a couple things from CP: Grays, bots, a Transdimensional Demon, Intruders, Zetans, The Scourge, retro saucers, floating platforms, Martian walkers, robot gunships, giant crawlers, etc. They'll be the penultimate faction, which will seem to be the conspiracy underlying all the other conspiracies (until it is revealed that eldritch wizard-kings have access to time-and-space travel beyond even the abilities of the Gray/Green Roswellian/Martians and their robotic minions). So some abductions, but mostly false-flag operations, with possibly even some fake aliens (humans posing as Grays) totally surprised when the "real" aliens show up. Not so much cow-tipping as Operation Mind as played by all parties. It's faction six of seven, so it's probably next year or the year after. Yes, this aspect of the campaign is heavily influenced by Robert Anton Wilson, William Cooper and fellow travelers. |

Had one scenario I ran that had an aliens Vs marines with the objective to rescue/abduct the most civilians all the while taking shots at each other. Each player had a vehicle (Saucer for the aliens, a military command post trailer for the grunts) and they could move it 12" inches a round as a home base where they had to evacuate the civilians to. For the aliens, I'd used Reapers grey aliens with a few conversions. The grunts were largely Reaper's IMEF with a couple extras in the form of a converted tech that was officer Sarah Anderson from Micro Art with her heels clipped off and a heavily modified GW Cadian comms backpack, and a medic from the CMoN Mech Pilot with the Cadian medic pack. (Both packs had their symbols removed save for the medics logo. The civilians were just some prepainted railroad pieces that were on discount. It was a rather fun game, and I need to go dig most of the rules back up at some point |

I know ThirdFateCreations has been doing a lot of XCOM painting, 28mm: link Find something soft for your jaw to land on, you will thank me for that later. I've been kicking the XCom idea around myself, it's cheap enough to set up in 15mm, or even 28mm if I kept the forces on table small (Did someone say Infinity?). |

I have a scenario for INEPTT that has ALiens "harvesting humans" and taking them back to the ship. INEPTT has to stop the aliens and save the civilians. |

I have an X COM project in the pipeline. Just started though. Probably going to use 15mm Khurasan stuff for most of it. |
