| Sloppypainter | 27 Jan 2012 4:38 p.m. PST |
I want one in 15mm. But there are no decent figs available as Little Big Wars point out. So
I'd be a "B" if I could. |

F) are tribesmen from South America. |

B) & then some: I have a classical Greek Amazon army including Skythian-style horse archers. I have a Sisters of the Blade army for Reaper's Warlord game. I have a Sisters of Battle army for 40K. I have an all female Dwarf army also for Reaper's Warlord game. I have a THW Star Army force made up of Shadowforge Star Marines (they were originally an Imperial Guard army for 40K). All other forces I have, have a mix of female & male miniatures. They're all 28mm. |

but ..they have soft covers, not berets |

B) Well, if you count the IJN Ground Force 34th Company with the 3rd SSDF Fleet; All female, authorised to use a dress uniform of standard 'samurai' body armour painted yellow with black stripes, while field uniform is dark grey. Known for their use of support robots and AI drones or 'Think Tanks', they are known most commonly as "The Brides Of Frankenstein" ( GZG Minis. Blame them. ) |
BlackWidowPilot | 27 Jan 2012 9:37 p.m. PST |
Not armies (not yet, anyway
), but plenty of troopers in integrated sci-fi units, plus a small force of "Amazon Auxiliary Corps" troopers and "Fembots" for Starguard. Will eventually get around to putting together a fantasy chariot force ala the gals from the movie Gladiator

B) I my active wargaming time I painted some 1500 minis, all female -diverse enough to re-fight (with a lot of good will when it came to 'count as) most of classical Ancient / Dark Ages / 'Peplum movies' peplums.blogspot.com battles. The core of the 'regulars' came from the Minifigs 'Aureola Rococo' range, including several chariot, elephant and artillery crews. Indian Maiden Guard for peltatst, Tsolyani light javelin maiden, concerted 'nudes' for LI slingers and Xbowgirls. A pike phalanx of 64 Grenadier. Not many 'Greek-type' Amazons, the Archive &c
ones were rather ugly. Khmer maiden guards for EHC, Grenadier panther riders on caparisoned horses for knights. Various mounts (wolves, wingless birds, bipedal dinosaurs
) counted as 'camel'. D&D 'characters' for most of the 'irregulars'. Fortunately for my bank account, I retired before knowing Shadowforge, Maidenhead, Eureka

The McBrides own a very fine ladies-and-tigers army from Thane's games, now Lone Gunman. They are excellent figures and it is a beautiful array. |

I have done three amazon armies in 15mm
I did a nude Greek-style army for HotT and a Libyan Egyptian (Libyan Amazon) army for DBA using Museum, and a Skythian-style (Thermidon River Amazon) using Falcon. I am working on a 28mm Libyan Amazon army for DBA 3.0 using Shadowforge. |

I'm now chin-deep in 18th C. Imagi-Nations TMP link and (fortunately for my bank account) the Eureka 'Sandras' range link is 'on hold' for years -and what is done is difficult to obtain (does not appear on the Eureka site):
TMP linkOtherwise, despite my 'retirement' from active wargaming I fear I'd built at least a 'Maiden Guard' for some imaginary 18th C. Ruritania-like mini-country. If you take Herodotus too literally you'll end up with Iranian hill-goatmen and giant scorpions. |
| Marshal Mark | 28 Jan 2012 5:08 p.m. PST |
Is "I wish there were better Amazon options for 15mm" option? That would get my vote. I recently picked up some of the Museum Miniatures 15mm Nude female archers link and would like to be able to build a whole army. I e-mailed them to ask if they could produce a bigger range of nude females – I was thinking of horse archers and hoplites, but they said no. |

"If you take Herodotus too literally you'll end up with Iranian hill-goatmen and giant scorpions." The fantasy RPG Runequest must have taken hi at his word, as the two major Chaos-worshipping races were the Broo (Chaos goatmen) and the Scorpion Men (Scorpion centaurs)
. Hmmm
there's a thought

I don't do armies just skirmish and I have plenty of female skirmish groups from Ancient Greek themed amazons to pulp lady air pirates to female zombie apocolpse survivors to scifi female aliens. |

My first Necromunda gang were Eschers! And my first army were Eldars (kinda girly too although it was all male IIRC :) But as a married men I grew out of all-female armies idea.. I consider them silly, especially in bikini armor and giant boobs wear serving as ballistic protection :) So in most instances C :> (but i plan 15 mm evil nun platoon from Khurasan in the future ! |

Hi, I'm Catdancer
just joined yesterday. I am currently working on an Amazon Army (private collection
not for game play)
but my fantasy vision of Amazons is not the armour clad & weapon laden ladies
but well endowed and scantly clad ladies like the ones in movies like (1 Million B.C
.etc). If anyone has any suggestions for such miniature figures (25-28mm)
please advise. Thanks loads! |
