I'm already aware of the RAFM and GZG spacer/settler/colonist figures already being sold:

However, does anyone know if there's anything NEW on the horizon (perhaps for early 2011), that could be used to play armed boarding incursions and landing parties with more of a "star fleet" -looking human style?

Perhaps something like the sleek, dressy, tailored look among the following images?

I direct your attention back here: TMP link

I am looking for similar, and it doesn't appear that anyone really makes them (nor has expressed plans to do so). The closest seems to be the Rebel Minis Infiltrators link

The few 15mm historical naval crew minis are (IMO) too chunky or dressed too baggy for the right look. :/

According to the USPS tracking info, my first pack of the Infiltrators should arrive this afternoon. I'm hoping they'll fit the bill. They have a little more detail (surprisingly) than bare unitard-type Star Trek or Star Blazers crew, but I think at 15mm they'll probably work.

I'll let you know soon enough. :)

Top Gun Ace13 Dec 2010 5:07 p.m. PST

I'd like to see some infiltrators without helmets made as well.

darthfozzywig13 Dec 2010 6:27 p.m. PST

I'm looking at them now (USPS delivered this afternoon as scheduled) and wondering about head-swaps.

Am I completely insane to be considered that with 15mm minis?

infojunky13 Dec 2010 8:32 p.m. PST

Nope, GZGs does a couple of sets of alternate heads.

Cacique Caribe13 Dec 2010 8:37 p.m. PST

I haven't tried any head swaps yet, but here are some tips I found:

Still, I would rather buy something NEW, specially made for the part:

Amarillo Design Bureau is working a game called Star Fleet Battlestations, based on the Battlestations game. Discussion Link:

I would be interested in some plain 15mm SF figures. I started to convert some of my figures (rebel and GZG), but I got sidetracked with some octopods and karks. I am planning to get back on track again after the holidays.

darthfozzywig13 Dec 2010 11:34 p.m. PST

As long as the Battlestations people aren't doing the minis. The 15mm crew minis they have are pretty awful. :(

Crow Bait14 Dec 2010 7:57 a.m. PST

Agreed. They do look awful on the web site, although I have never seen them in the flesh, so to speak. If they do make minis for the project, the Klingons will be the Orginal Series type, and not the Klingons from everything since then.

Cacique Caribe14 Dec 2010 6:58 p.m. PST

So, who should we bug to get the human uniformed space fleet types produced?

No one – I've tried many times without success, including even the ADB people. They say they have been unable to find a sculptor.

Perhaps a new, independent player will step up to the plate.

GeoffQRF16 Dec 2010 5:51 a.m. PST

Well, maybe when I get around to updating and expanding our sci-fi range…

I came across this on TGN that my be what you're looking for:

Great minis, Ferrous, and perfect except for scale. :/

Cacique Caribe16 Dec 2010 8:34 p.m. PST

Aren't those 28mm?

Dan

darthfozzywig16 Dec 2010 8:40 p.m. PST

Sadly, yes, otherwise they'd be just the ticket.

Cacique Caribe16 Dec 2010 11:35 p.m. PST

That's weird. I thought I has posted my comment before you said "except for scale".

Talk about missing time! :)

Ferrous17 Dec 2010 1:54 p.m. PST

oh, my apologies, didn't notice you were looking for 15mm.

darthfozzywig17 Dec 2010 2:30 p.m. PST

It's ok, you just got our hopes up and dashed them. ;)

Cacique Caribe24 Dec 2010 9:20 p.m. PST

Great.

Ok, how about a fleet ship's crew and officers in 15mm, dressed in something less futuristic . . .

Dan,
I think this would be a better option for less futuristic uniforms:

Bleeped text shame this show got cancelled. Had more potential than ST:VOY, and it was almost as good as ST:DS9.

I'm again thinking Galaxy Quest here, if the size of this critter is right:
