After looking at Whiffwhaff's 28mm greens of "fishy cultists", it occurred to me . . .

QUESTION:

How difficult would it be to dress up these 15mm.co.uk Octopods in robes and hoods?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

How Difficult To Dress 15mm.co.uk's Octopods In ROBES/HOODS?

Probably not too hard if you first buy them a COUPLE OF DRINKS.

LOL. I knew it. If the system allowed more text in the title, it wouldn't have sounded so dumb.

Last time I wrote a title of that sort, I got all kinds of smart answers:

Thanks for making me smile though.

Tissue paper soaked in PVA is one tried and true method, though it will be a bit fiddly in 15mm.

I see that the "Seer" set already has the figures with robes.

I would love to do the same with the others, and even provide some of the grunts hoods:

Dunno. They'd look a bit ood.

Really?

Hmm. Maybe I should reconsider the idea then. Or, at the very least, do some sketches to see what they would turn out looking like.

Simple with some green stuff.

"Simple with some green stuff"

My problem has always been duplicating folds in clothing, in a way that looks halfway natural.

I would love some suggestions there.

Thanks.

Dan
PS. By the way, what alien is this?

The hood would indeed be easy with green stuff, but the robe would be the problem. I see there are some back packs on several figures so the robe will not hang loose from the waist up. So any folds would flair out from the waist downwards.

I have a similar problem with a cloak for mounted figure.
Good luck,

I don't have too much of a problem with sculpting leather:

But folds in cloth are way different for me. I either sculpt too many or too few. Plus the folds I do simply don't look natural or believable.

The alien a couple of posts up is a Gand insectoid alien from the Star Wars universe – starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gand

Gand?

Very cool. Thanks!

I guess I should have done a little digging among TMP's old threads:

Too bad the links within those threads are no longer working.

QUESTION:

Are there any recent (meaning still working/accessible) tutorials on sculpting robes and other flowing garments?

Need any tall cultists?

If zombies can have their Goliaths (like in Resident Evil: Afterlife), then why not cultists, right?
