Ok. I know that the following manufacturers produce robots that could be used as Terminators:

* GZG
link
* 15mm.co.uk
link

But, WHO ELSE makes 15mm robots that could work for the ones in the Terminator films?

Thanks.

Yup, CPT Jake is right. I have 2 Squads. Right nice figs, too.

Does anyone make 20mm robots (so they can tower a bit over the humans)?

Dan

JRacel19 Nov 2009 5:59 p.m. PST

Dan,

The ones by 15mm.co.uk are really tall and do tower over most 15mm troops. Check out the comparison shots I did and you should be able to see it. I would prefer the Scourge since they are small enough to be human sized terminators after the flesh is burned away. I am also not a fan of the missile launcher guy from 15mm.co.uk with the system in his chest.

My take would be to go with Rebel's Scourge, but since I own large numbers of bnoth, I no longer have to chose . . . . .

My favorite are Gzg's. My Scourge will fill another role. I did buy some of the malleable metallic terminators from 15mm.Co.Uk. I like the Company but man couldn't they get a better name? ;-D

Thanks,

John

Hi CC don't want to hijack your thread was hoping I could also gain some insight as I had also thought of doing a couple of Terminator themed armies after seeing 15mm.co.uk's "Automatons".

What manufacturer would you use for the Future soldier freedom fighters?

Would be looking for something with a similar feel to the old leading edge games figues; picture

I have seen the GZG "Colonial militia troops" which look quite suitable do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks CC.

Cheers

Sorry CC just seen the TMP link on the bottom of your first post. Doh!

Still if you do have any further recommendations from your research be keen to hear them.

Cheers

Chris

15mm UK are the best but that is just me. Not big on the GZG ones but I do like there other 15mm minis and the Rebels Scourge look nice but are small.

I have both the 15mm UK and I use the GZG as advanced models…I have to paint up some infiltrators and the like…but I did post pics a while back….

Which product number are the GZG robots? I'm only getting teh whole (huge) 15mm stock list

Cacique Caribe20 Nov 2009 2:17 p.m. PST

Wellspring,

Code:
SG15-X03 –
Endoskeletal Combat Robots – tall "skelebots" with mix of heavy energy rifles and twin handheld energy guns Pack of 6

The more products are added, the further down they are pushed in the listings.

They are here right now, towards the bottom of the page:

Hope that helps.

Rebel makes the Scourge:

they're not supposed to be terminator robot types though, are they? i think that's a guy in a stealth suit.

"they're not supposed to be terminator robot types though, are they? i think that's a guy in a stealth suit."

Actually, I believe they are. Or something akin to the Coalition Skelebots from the Rifts RPG (which is what I'm going to use them for).

Cacique Caribe21 Nov 2009 1:04 p.m. PST

Scourge could pass for ST Borg.

Mine will be the Anubis Jaffa from Stargate.

John,

I can certainly see the potential there.

This 32mm droid is not an endoskeleton:

However, do you guys think it could be used with 15mm figures?

Thanks.

You know…

One of the things that always really erked me about popular conception of robotic foot troops- Terminators, New Cylons, Battle Droids, ect- is how skinny they are.

Lets face it, if you're trying to build an infiltrator- something that's designed to integrate with humankind- then yes, you'll want to build them skinny. That way you can drape rubber or clone skins over them and march 'em right into Resistance Headquarters.

But, if you have a pneumatic system that can lift easily several hundred pounds over long durations then why not slap a buttload of armor on them. I mean, we keep wanting to go the armored route- body armor, powered armor, whatever- why not the robots?

In my mind, robotic foot troops should be big, armored affairs- not like tanks or HKs mind you, they're too big and missle magnets. But they should be able to take 50cal and RPG rounds, smile at you and keep on comin.

Have you seen DP9's Fleet Scale Heavy Gears?

They come 10 to a blister, so at $20 USD a blister, they're $2 USD a pop.

If you can get past the price, they do look rather nice.
Here's what they look like up against some GZG and Khurasan 15mm:

Granted, they aren't painted, I know. Presently, I'm all about WarMachine and Hordes, so, while I have some 15mm, and I dabble here and there, I'm just not all that into it right now.

CC,

for 20mm scale 'bots Reviresco makes a number of very nice ones in the classic STARGUARD series:

The Myrmidon is a skull-faced thug of a warbot, and the Guardian is nice and pulp-ish with its bucket head…evil grin

Thanks.

Here's a comparison picture. The Mekanoid is actually a bit more massive than the human figure, which is 16mm to the eye, not 15mm.

That is the correct set, Dan.

I also recommend the Battle Robots from Mike at The Scene.

AD001 are closer to the exoskeltons in the Terminator movie whilst AD002 really do tower above 15mm and are excellent. They resemble the combat droid in Judge Dredd.

Following a progression of chats with a friend of mine i am pleased to announce that a certain manufacturer of good Terminator alikes have listened to my suggestions and will be sculpting models based on the characters of Terminator.

They will be as follows

Terminator from the 1st movie
Kyle Reese
Sarah Connor
John Connor
T100

Also T600 alikes
And refined (more muscle Infiltrator Terminators )

I am not sure if i can go into names or anything but give it time ( I reckon about a month or two )

Do some shopping on miniatures in the 15 mm scale and Voila !!!

Cacique Caribe25 Feb 2011 12:20 p.m. PST

When they come out, I'll have to buy boatloads of them right away, just in case the IP Police ruins it for all.

The Secne thesceneuk.com have some suitable robots

davea198206 Mar 2011 10:02 a.m. PST

Hey Guys,

Thought i would post links to what i have achieved so far.

Miniatures are a combination of Rebel Miniatures, 15mm and Critical Mass games. HK is a Terminator Salvation toy.

Buildings are made from Foamboard. And the ground is a gravel scenic matt from my local model shop.
