Pictures: link link Description: "From the deepest parts of Space comes The Scourge! These 15mm robotic fiends are great for any Sci-Fi scenario! Each pack contains 21 Minis (5 unique sculpts) and they are incredibly detailed! Sculpted by Adam Gayford." rebelminis.com/scourge.html Wow. I don't know about you guys but, depending on how you paint them, they could pass for . . . * Extraterrestrial alien troops in armor; * Terminator robots; * Star Trek Borg; and * And even "Crysis"-like assassins/troops in nanosuits. What do you guys think? CC |

Definitly another paint job then a one color "Oily Steel" Borg possibly, might even be the source? |

"Borg possibly, might even be the source?" You mean the origins of the Borg? Before they started assimilations? CC |

Really great figures. I like the idea of aliens in weird power armor, or super-upgraded automatons. I see them as enemies of both humans and the Garn, forcing the carbon-based etities to cooperate |

I really like the latest Rebel stuff but I really don't get these. They look like blobs of metal to me. |

I know what you mean. Compared to the similar 'not-Terminator' offerings from GZG and 15mm.co.uk they don't look too good, Perhaps it's the paint job? I've got their Sahadeen and they are beautiful little minis, 28mm detail on a 15mm sculpt. |

I have to agree, the models look too much like guys in suits. Paint job has something to do with it, but it's more design than anything else. The body proportions are too human to make compelling robots/cyborgs. Not the sculptor's fault, he was probably just doing what he was told. |

Anyone wanting to do RIFTS in 15mm could use these guys as Coalition human troops in hard armor. Black, with white details and bang you got 'em. I also see some classic PA androids like they had in the Gamma World game. Paint white, or silver with red, orange, or green details and you get nice 1970's sci-fi look. -Eli |

Acctually, if you look at them as guys in close fitting armour they look OK. It's only when you're expecting Terminators/Necrons that you're disappointed. |
Cacique Caribe | 04 Jul 2009 12:02 a.m. PST |
Exactly! I think they could be great as stealth assassins or nanosuit troops like this one: picture link CC |

When I get them I'll attach a sheathed samurai sword slung on their backs . . . YouTube link link What do you think??? CC |
Soldat | 05 Jul 2009 5:15 a.m. PST |
You could always paint them up as Iron Mens. They are passable for terminators at 15mm. |

I have no idea how tall this really is . . . link QUESTION: Do you guys think it would work best as a manned or as an unmanned hovering craft (for the 15mm Scourge figures)? CC |
Cacique Caribe | 30 Sep 2009 9:04 p.m. PST |
Wow, guys. I just thought of something weird . . . What if the Scourge were really Grey/Human hybrids, created specifically to assist and defend their Grey masters? picture rebelminis.com/15algru.html Reminds me of the quote from "Beneath the Planet of the Apes": "Mr. Taylor, Mr. Brent, we are a peaceful people. We don't kill our enemies. We get our enemies to kill each other." So the "peaceful" Greys (the unarmed Greys done by Rebel Minis) could use mind control to incite and direct their hybrid creations against us humans. What do you guys think of that idea? Could the Scourge figures pass for Grey/Human Hybrids (based in part on the shape of their heads)? Or do you think they need a little hair to be more convincing as hybrids? picture CC TMP link |

I dunno, i quite like these guys. |

That suggestion of them as hardsuit troopers gave me an idea. They could actually stand in for Legend of Galactic Heroes Imperial Panzergrenadiers with the skull faces. |

Every time I look at those figures, this line comes to mind . . . "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. We are the Borg." rebelminis.com/scourge.html TMP link Dan |
