These are the basic battlebots of the Mekanoids. Four different poses, all with a pulse rifle arm and a chainsaw arm for close encounters.

Here's a sample of final appearance (a provisional model was posted earlier).

Also to be released for the Mekanoids will be a gunbot (pulse cannon, optional close combat arms), a huge battle Mech called the Dictator, and a big Mekanoid gunship called a Skynought. All are malevolent living robots.

Posible future release will be Fluid Steel Duplicators, which can take on the shape of the enemy, preventing the FSD from being fired at until they reach close range.

Khurasan,

Very nice!

Any chance you would consider using the original head concept on a future set?

Thanks.

just 15mm or are you doing them in 25mm as well?

I liked orginal heads much more too.
New ones are departure from smooth futuristic lines.

I like the overall mini, especially the weapon built into the forearm – but the head doesn't suit to my personal taste. The original shown by Dan above is somewhat better but i'd like to see something more streamlined still.

Cheers

I thought the old head looked too much like a flashlight. grin

Or worse yet, like these chaps:

The overall look of the Mekanoids is the head that is deep and narrow in the front, like a hatchet, with two lenses on the front, one on top of the other. It unifies all the disparate Mekanoid chassis.

Evil robots: Making a dark future somewhat less dark. wink

Love the minis, but not a fan of the new head either. Maybe there is a middle point between the two?

the new head might not be too bad, side view may not show it off that well. If you can paint light reflecting, then an evil red glow off the metal helmet/visor will look cool

Some of us think it's an improvement. grin

Either or I like them both…the old one had a sleek look and the new one has a block head thing going on, both are fun.

That things pretty cool! like most of your line I'm interested to see where the army goes!

khurasanminiatures05 Mar 2010 7:09 a.m. PST

These guys are getting a humongous battle mech that's going to be the centerpiece of the army, grabula. Then there will be the basic grenadier bots, a centaur-like gunbot with a heavy pulse cannon (it's basically a spidery centaur), a gunship bot that will act like an attack helicopter, and perhaps some fluid steel stealth troopers. Not sure about the last ones though. It's all coming along well and the whole line except the gunship bot and fluid steel infiltrators should be available within 2 months or so.

Grabula05 Mar 2010 11:03 a.m. PST

woah, humongous battlemechs are on my list of favorite death dealing machines. All of it sounds pretty cool though, can't wait to see them…after Orcas are released of course!

khurasanminiatures05 Mar 2010 12:15 p.m. PST

Orcas being cast now!
