Mongo, Very, very nice!!! Thanks so much. It really makes a big difference to have a figure or two in the picture, to bring the size of the vehicles in perspective. CC PS. What mesh do you use here? Is it metal? Plastic? picture |

I'm using metal screen door mesh, it's dirt cheap at hardware stores. Doctor Merkury was saying he has vinyl screen door material. That may work better only becasue when you start getting the metal screening cut too small it can fall apart a little because it's actually woven together, I would think the vinyl is probably sealed together so that strands of it wouldn't fall apart as you cut. I like the metal though because you can bend it and shape it. I don't know if the vinyl would allow that or not. Mongo |

Another reason to look into vinyl might be safety. All that cut metal screen can lead to some nasty cuts. Though if you sanding the ends of the cuts or put a railing along the top with wire you might be fine there. -Eli |

A buddy of mine suggested using Sheetrock (wallboard) tape for 28mm chain-link fence (he recommended to use it on the diagonal): picture link link link I've never worked with that before, but I wonder if it could work for vehicle conversions as well. I'm curious as to what adhesive would work best with it. CC |

I've tried that netted drywall tape. I don't like it, because it's actually adhesive on one side so it just gets sticky to work with. I've been cutting some of the big sheets of screening on the diagonal for a second round of vehicles. What's nice about the big sheets of screen is that I can cut a long strip of diagonal fencing for chain link fences and stuff. Some of the other items I used: -Ribbon wire from inside of some old computers cut up into small pieces for corrugated metal sheeting -blade bits from some Dark Eldar sprues that I had for some reason(seriously I don't know where they came from) -Pet Pig .30 caliber machine guns on mounts -some cannibalized construction vehicles from the dollar store for plow bits -punched out plasticard from the Wizards of the Coast game Pirates! -"granny grating" or knitting sheet grids for larger cage material -other assorted bits and old sprues cut into stuff. Hope this helps, Mongo |

Nice looking stuff Mongo! I think the new Gzg Ravagers would fit right in too. Thanks, John |

Mongo, Thanks so much for the info on the drywall mesh tape. I guess I'll have to go with a non-adhesive vinyl option instead. CC |

For 28mm "chainlink" fencing, the aluminum mesh used for gutter leaf guards works great. It can be easily tied to the fence structure with wire & you don't even need to paint it
