Hi my name is Shea Reagan, i'm Smokey's Daughter.

I want to game a Zombie Scenario that takes place in a spa.

The women there are all wiering green face mask with white robes and hair wraps.

The Zombies will look the same just with a little tweak in their look.

So the help (police and firefighters) will have a hard time idenifying the Zombies from the people.

I will use Dead Walk Again rules,

but how should I game the identafication issues with the Zombies and the simular looking spa women.

Thank you

Maybe try pieces of post-it notes or masking tape attached to the bottom of their bases?
The person playing the zombie side will know who is who, but, the police/firefighter team shouldn't know the difference. You can reveal who is who after the game or after each kill…

Enjoy!

Insomniac29 Mar 2009 8:42 a.m. PST

You could go the 'Blip' route.

Each spa-goer should be stood on a counter. As soon as the help get to within a pre-determined distance, the counter would be turned over to reveal whether the mini is a zombie or not.

Decide on the distance by using the leadership of the help. That way the help that has the higher leadership would get a bit more time to react than one who wasn't so aware…

All you would need to do is cut out a bunch of 30mm diameter cardboard circles and write a Z (ZOMBIE) or H (HUMAN)on one side. Place the circle face down and plonk your mini on top. All counters should be identical apart from the letter underneath.

If any of the help get zombified, you could plonk them on to red counters to identify them as corrupt.

Thank you guys

Now how do i get minatures of spa women?

Dr Mathias Fezian29 Mar 2009 9:05 a.m. PST

That sounds like a fun game. I thought that there was a miniature made for everything- now we've discovered that theres a need for women in "spa garb"!

Mike OBrien29 Mar 2009 9:12 a.m. PST

Look at the new Wargames Factory Zombies or take some regular women figures and fake some robes with a little putty. I think the hardest part will be the figs laying down with cucumbers on their eyes. How about mud bath women or Zombies. They really shouldn't be called Zombies but Living Impaired-Americans.

Smokey Roan29 Mar 2009 9:17 a.m. PST

Ok Great idea. My dad said he would build me the spa if i could get the figures.

napthyme29 Mar 2009 9:32 a.m. PST

Glad to see a young gal taking such an interest in this old mans hobby…

Green Gang29 Mar 2009 9:50 a.m. PST

And lucky enough to have a dad build scenery for her! But it's all dependent on locating / making the spa women. I don't think I've ever seen such figures, unless there are suitable doctor or scientist types wearing white coats that would require only a little greenstuff.

I would recommend this for spa women: buy dollies/blanks from a company like Bronze Age, cut up a thin, fine thread cloth scrap, and glue it on as a towel (making a robe would be harder).

Take a smaller bit of cloth twist it, and glue it on the head, as a towel wrap.

It would require you to do a bit of work (and not glue your fingers), but you aren't going to find spa women already made.

How about Roman or Greek females?

If you can find any civilians in toga or weaponless you may find the conversion simpler.

Shea,

Welcome to the fun. It is inspiring to see you follow in your Dad's footsteps.

What size figures were you looking for?

Shadowforge has some 25-28mm women in Greek-like robes and such:

You'd have to cut off their weapons though.

Hasslefree, Ral Partha and others have "concubines" in robes as well.

Hope it helps.

PS. If you feel adventurous, I would suggest you follow Iron Ivan's advice and use dollies/armatures, that you can pose and dress up as you like.

Thaks! Great ideas!!!!!

WeeSparky29 Mar 2009 3:19 p.m. PST

My first miniature conversions were made by attaching bits of white fabric athletic tape to plastic figures. Brush on a coat of Elmer's craft glue and it can be painted when dry. I made several cultists this way. Towel raps and turbans should be easy enough to do.

Atomic Floozy29 Mar 2009 5:00 p.m. PST

You could also use the Bronze Age Miniatures Queen's Harem set from his not-Princess of Mars range. All you would need to do is add some tissue paper as towels.

Thanks for helping my daughter, guys.

I told her on the phone: "Just make a thread titled "I need help with a scenario" and they would come through for you.

:)

I talked her into having a few women in robes, and a bunch of other spa type women (I already had two Zombie Hairdressers).

Looks like I will be building a 28mm spa soon. :)

CLDISME30 Mar 2009 7:12 a.m. PST

I already had two Zombie Hairdressers.

I sure hope they are hairdressers who are zombies, because hairdressers for zombies would be kind of a waste since zombies really don't keep up to date on the latest hair styles. Plus zombies are really bad tippers.

Smokey Roan30 Mar 2009 12:06 p.m. PST

And from now on, NO MORE "Hannah Montana" references in any thread titles, when 13 year old girls may be perusing the boards.

:( :( :(

If it had been titled "Mall Zombie Game", she would have said: "Huh?"

But when the thread title is "Hannah Montana Mall Zombie Game", I get yet another project on my hands. :(

Thanks, CC. I have studied those at length.

I have been planning a 28mm GIGANTIC Mall for years now. It will be the darling at every Con I attend. (when/if I ever build it, that is) :)

:)

BTW, I need a "Hannah Montana and "Edward" (some dude from the "Twilight" movie) in 15mm (and really, in 28mm)

Cacique Caribe30 Mar 2009 2:38 p.m. PST

"Hannah Montana"

Would a 28mm "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" look-alike work for you? I think there's a couple of them at Hasslefree:

"Edward"

If this is the guy she means, just any figure with big hair might do:

What about Heresy's "Skunk", minus the gun?

Some suggestions for how law enforcement could ID Zeds with something better than reconnaissance by fire (or random counters).

Pepper spray – Drops your typical spa-goer to the ground in screaming hysterics (this is also my preferred reaction to the evil stuff). Zeds are merely offended that it tastes nothing like brains. The sprayer that every cop wears on his/her gunbelt (MK 4 OC) only has a range of 15 feet or so. The bigger (MK 9) has twice that and can still be used in one hand, and the full blown riot sprayer can go about 50 feet and requires both hands.

Tear gas – similar to above, but one grenade (thrown or launched) can fill a room. The cops have some kind of attack penalty for wearing gas masks, but Zombies don't cough and are easily identified.

Smokey Roan30 Mar 2009 4:34 p.m. PST

WOW! LOL! That is a well thought out idea!

Thanks! (I would probably NOT tell the players, and see if they figurre that out on their own)

:)

Pardon me for chiming in late. While I think Chalfant's idea is excellent (and you could use the Go-Gos' album cover for _Beauty and the Beat_ as a sculpting guide!), if you are wedded to the idea of robes, I think any number of Fantasy figures might fill the bill. For example, Megaminis has 5 "Ladies of the evening" at USD1.50/unit:

auction

A rolled-out "snake" of green stuff looped around the necks, then dropped down to right, all the way to the hem of the long skirt would do for the shawl collar and front edge of a robe. Let dry, then fill in or file any jarring details (exposed breasts, frilly neckline, undergarments). Next another rolled out piece of green stuff for belt tie. Blob of putty for towel on the head.

The idea for this game is brilliant, BTW. I hope to see photos.
