Since some don't have images of all their packs, if you recommend a manufacturer, could you also recommend a specific nationality/group in their range?

Much appreciated.

Old Crow has some figs that would make good SST light troops:

that's pretty cool! You know what's scary? I have a load of those plastic ants. I have been buying them during Halloween in bags of 100. I already have the infantry painted up. i also have about 6-7 of the micro machine Tanker Bugs (the smaller ones that would be in scale with 15mm).

There you go launching me on another project!

;-D

Thanks,

John

Nope it wasn't me. here are some pics I took of a Slammer SST game using 15mm figs and plastic spiders in 1999.

This was waaaaaaay before the release by Mongoose. Even then I wanted to game it!

llyrric, I really like the job you did on them! Very nicely done. I like your site. The AoA part is also great.

Thanks,

John

How about Peter Pig IDF? I've got some pics here link
Give them a grey colour scheme and I think they'd be dead on.

The GZG Cal-Tech can of course be recycled as goram purplebellies, sorry, Feds from Firely/Serenity. Just thought I'd mention it.

Cyclops03 Jan 2009 8:00 a.m. PST

Sorry, IDF= Israeli Defence Force, Range 17 (thanks nvdoyle).

Cacique Caribe03 Jan 2009 10:04 a.m. PST

Goon,

Hmmm. I don't remember what those Feds looked like. I can't seem to find any images of them either.

"Hmmm. I don't remember what those Feds looked like. I can't seem to find any images of them either."

You see them in "The Train Job", the episode that was hastily written as a new pilot when the studios decided that the original "Serenity" pilot didn't have enough action in it, or might make the viewers have to think, or something….
Whedon & co re-used the ST movie uniforms and helmets in this episode, though I think they carried British L85 rifles (but I'm going from memory here and that could be wrong).
The Alliance troops seen in the Battle of Serenity Valley sequence in the pre-credits of the "Serenity" episode seem to be completely different, in WW2 German helmets.
I don't recall offhand whether they feature in any other episodes, I think not.

ZeroGee2,

I see now!

I seem to recall that the space station troops in Alien Resurrection used very similar armor and helmets.

They could also be used as ISA troops for a Bab5 game…

Hmm, Firefly huh. Well . . . guess what?

I'd use Jon's revamped NAC Marines or Free Cal-Tec. Alternatively Force XXI range of infantry.

Definitely! I'd go for the light infantry look.

Either Jon's new NAC Marines (when they are ready for sale):

Or Mike's Earth Force Marines:
