Mike at Rebel Minis has kindly provided me with pictures of his forthcoming range of 15mm Earth Force Marines to share with everyone. You will find the first pics here on my Dropship Horizon blog link The minis are due to be released shortly. For more details and further pics, keep an eye on Dropship Horizon. Cheers Mark link |

Mike is putting out better and better minis. I am very pleased that he is only a short distance away and shiping is lightning fast. Looks like I will be spending a lot more money with Rebel this year! :) Can't wait to see the rest of the line. Also still waiting on the new moderns. It's nice to have two small miniature companies in the local area that are doing so well. Both Rebel and Splintered Light seem to be hitting them out of the park with their last few releases. Jeff |

I'm going to get those for FAD4 :) I hope they do heavy weapons, officers and all that. |
CATenWolde | 06 Mar 2009 5:09 a.m. PST |
Great looking figures, and they manage to be different from GZG figures, which isn't easy with all their variety. Are there plans to expand at least into heavy weapons, or specialists? |
Cacique Caribe | 06 Mar 2009 6:36 a.m. PST |
I've got my money already saved up and ready for when he says go!!! How soon do you think, Mark? CC |

Those guys would be excellent stand-ins for the Wildcards :) |

Mike's just emailed me to say " I am doing ("the grunts") pack for Cold Wars this next weekend. It will have 20 grunts and a Sgt.(helmetless) for $10.95." Cheers Mark |

@CATenWolde- Yes, we have a heavy weapons pack w/an EF sniper team, an Auto cannon and a Rocket launcher. I hope to have those out soon. @CC – If all goes well, I'll have some packs by Wed
then off to the show. Thanks! RebelMike RebelMinis.com

I'd like to see a size comparison with the Rebel Minis (old and new and greens, scifi and modern), and GZG (both new (large) and old (small)). Maybe throw in some Peter Pig and the new/old RAFM Striker minis, too. |

If all goes well, I'll have some packs by Wed DANG! More money to Rebelminis

Excellent news. They look superb! I hope they will do some firing weapons from standing, kneeling, and prone positions (need a full squad of those). Anti-tank, and anti-air rocket launchers would be nice, as well as skirmishing poses, e.g. running while crouched, as if under fire and trying to get small, so as not to be hit, firing from the hip, firing around corners, etc. Some longer-barreled squad support weapons, futuristic looking mortars, and other items would be useful too. If a few more figures were without helmets (or with helmets on, but open visors), in seated poses, they could work for ship's crew figures, getting ready for battle, and ready to don helmets at a moments notice, in case of a hull breach. I imagine those would sell well with the Traveller, and other space RPG crowd, since no one makes anything like that in 15mm scale. I need at least a full platoon of these, at 1:1 scale, and possibly a company, if they are compatible with the GZG minis. |

I like the idea one poster had of making the guy without the helmet with a separate head. I would like to see that done for him, and also for at least some of the figures with helmets as well, for increased variety, e.g. that way they can be posed looking forward, right, or left, and various points in between. |

@Rebel Minis – that's great news on the support troops, and a must purchase for my upcoming summer "Stargrunting" (sounds vaguely naughty) @Dropship Horizon – just wanted to say thanks for the 15mm scifi blog and the list of manufacturers. I got into 15mm back when the first few packs of GZG were coming out, and it's great to see so many lines now. |

Thanks for the positive comments and support guys! Once I physically have some of the miniatures, I'll post comparisons with the RAFM and GZG Vacc suited figures. I actually like the guy without helmet! Anyhoo – have updated my blog with photos of the infantry support weapons that accompany the range. link Cheers Mark |

Goes without saying, I will buy ALL those packs in a heartbeat!!! The guy without the helmet would have to be kept for those occasions where environmental conditions are suitable, such as when they board stations or other ships. I really, really, really love that range. Can't wait to get my hands on a couple of packs of each, just as a start. Fantastic previews, Mark! You have made me a definite 15mm convert. link TMP link CC |

DH looking forward to it. Yes that little guy has a face, rather than a mud-pie. The figures all look damn good IMHO. |

Just for grins since I'm starting my own Earth Force Marines, I'll revive this thread once more
.. Someone else will have to bring it back next year. OK, now to decide on a color scheme. I've seen a few really good ones, but none that just reach out and grab me. But the real reason to bring this back to life
..where is this picture from?
|
sharkbait | 13 Aug 2012 5:17 p.m. PST |
Crap, Skipper! When I saw this thread this evening, I first thought Rebel was bringing out some new EF Marine minis! I believe the picture if from Space: Above and Beyond (TV series from mid 90s, IIRC). |
