Jon at Ground Zero Games has kindly sent me some sample miniatures from his resculpted and expanded range of 15mm N.A.C. Marines. These figures are great and build upon the success of GZG's much acclaimed recent Heavy and Light Vacc-Suit packs. To my mind the cracking detail and more animated style ushers in a new era for both GZG and 15mm Sci Fi miniatures! But go see for yourself at my Dropship Horizon blog link Responding to customer feedback, Jon will be producing separate packs of riflemen, squad support, heavy weapons and NCOs/command figures. These are not ready for sale just yet and the pics on the blog only represent a selection of the new minis. Jon intends to release the new packs in the near future, in plenty of time for SALUTE. Details of the new packs will follow on Dropship Horizon when they have been confirmed. Cheers Mark |

Oh oh
can I still get packs of the old figures to fill out my existing organization? Or will these be compatible enough to not worry overly much? |
Top Gun Ace | 26 Feb 2009 2:27 p.m. PST |
That is great news! I hope they do some in shooting, running, prone/crawling, and low-crouched, skirmishing poses (as if moving while under enemy fire, and not wanting to get hit, so trying to make themselves a smaller target) as well. |
nvdoyle | 26 Feb 2009 2:48 p.m. PST |
Oh, very nice! Could we see them next to the old ones? |
Dropship Horizon | 26 Feb 2009 2:57 p.m. PST |
I've had one Vodka too many tonight and out saying cheery-bye to my team tomorrow night. I'll pop up some comparison pics to answer compatability queries on saturday evening. Cheers Mark |

The new sculpts are very tasty. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to adapt Ambush alley to a Sci-Fi setting! I really enjoyed your blog as well, keep up the good work. |

Oooh, those look good, well-proportioned and not overly stocky (my main complaint about most 15mm figures is they are by and large ridiculously stocky). |
John Leahy | 26 Feb 2009 8:08 p.m. PST |
Wow! Those are REALLY nice. I like them a lot more than the older set. Thanks, John |

Now what am I going to do with the 3 packs of NAC helmet infantry I already have? I guess it really does not matter, I will buy the new ones someday soon anyway. Jon is an evil man. Keep up the good work |

"Now what am I going to do with the 3 packs of NAC helmet infantry I already have?" Although the new figures are done in our sculptor's greatly improved style (they're still by the same sculptor, he's just got MUCH better at 15mm – the original NAC packs were the first 15mm work he did for us several years back) they are still pretty much compatible with the older packs, certainly at table viewing distances; after all, some of us are taller/shorter, thinner/bulkier than others, aren't we
? ;-) I'd keep all your existing ones, and just mix the new ones in when you want to expand your unit. The A1, A2 etc packs will stay in production, the new ones are to supplement them rather than replace them. As Mark mentioned in his preview, these have been done in response to customer request for a greatly expanded selection of figures with command, support, heavy weapons etc – we're very much using the NAC as a trial run here, IF enough of you buy them then we'll do the same with at least some of the other nationalities – so it's in your hands
. ;-) Best, Jon (GZG) |

Yes, yes they are nice. But where oh where are their arch enemies the ESU regular infantry? Marines are OK, but the regulars are needed. Please, I promise to buy some! |

Would love to see some new figs that look like those on the Gurps, Ogre book: TMP link They appear to be similar to the skinny vacc suit guys, but with thin eyeslits on their helmets. |
nazrat | 27 Feb 2009 4:28 p.m. PST |
Jon, when will the complete new line of NAC be available? I will buy at least several platoons worth as soon as they are! I have been putting off 15mm SF for way too long. This is JUST what I need to get me going, and I was dreading doing all that conversion work for 15mm figs to make the command, coms, and support weapon guys. |
ZeroGee2 | 27 Feb 2009 4:34 p.m. PST |
They'll certainly be out in time for Salute at the end of March, though whether they will be up for mailorder until after the show I'm not yet sure. The last batch of them are currently being sculpted to complete the packs, then they've all got to have production moulds made. The ones I sent to Mark for the preview on his blog were some very advance samples of the first few sculpts, straight from the master moulds. Jon (GZG) |

The last batch of masters arrived from the sculptor this morning, just got to do a little more work myself on some of the heavy and support weapons and I'll be ready to start some serious mouldmaking
.. so they're out of jumpspace and onto final approach to Earth, and I'll update you all again when they hit orbit
