Who makes such goodies for 15mm SF gaming? Thanks. CC TMP link |
javelin98 | 12 Feb 2009 11:17 a.m. PST |
Luckily, a lot of modern accessories can be used for sci-fi gaming. Maybe some FoW stuff? |
Covert Walrus | 12 Feb 2009 11:28 a.m. PST |
Old Crow. Their ammo and supply boxes will work for hi-tech storage, even the 25mm items

Vojvoda, I'll check out Stone Mountain. Javelin98, I'm new to 15mm. Where's the FoW stuff listed? Covert Walrus, I'll give Old Crow another look. I missed those somehow. They don't seem to be under accessories, vehicles, buildings or figures: link Do any of them have tents? Thanks all. CC |
Cacique Caribe | 12 Feb 2009 1:15 p.m. PST |
Wow. FoW has a lot of interesting goodies! link link Would those accessories fit in with GZG, Old Crow, Rebel Minis and other SF figures? CC |
Sumo Boy | 12 Feb 2009 1:20 p.m. PST |
CC, if you're looking at Old Crow, you have to look under the Ainsty line: link |
nazrat | 12 Feb 2009 5:12 p.m. PST |
Except Ainsty stuff is ALL 28mm, isn't it? |
Sumo Boy | 12 Feb 2009 6:02 p.m. PST |
Oops I think you're right Nazrat

Jez at Old Crow mentioned that he was thinking of making his 15mm hi-tech crates available in the accesories section (normally these are available with the Provider vehicle). You might send him an email and give him a nudge. KFrye |

JR Miniatures used to have 15mm ACW camp sets for the Union and CSA. They had a selection of tents and material stock. I am not sure if they are still in production. They also had a number of 15mm Supply items in their WW2 ranges. Individual barrels and stacks. Quatermaster has some WW2 15mm supply dumps sections. |

You are confusing the hell out of this 15mm newbie!!! Just think of them as "extra-large" or "wholesale sized". |
Cacique Caribe | 13 Feb 2009 9:39 a.m. PST |
LOL. Thanks Sumo Boy. Much appreciated. CC |
javelin98 | 13 Feb 2009 10:47 a.m. PST |
The Ebbles solution is a good one, since you can scale the PDFs to print at your desired size! Print them at 60% or so and you should have pretty usable 15mm terrain. |

Hmmm. This is interesting: TMP link I wonder how hard it would be to turn one of those ISO containers into an office: picture picture link I would still prefer a tent set up like the ones shown in my previous posts. CC |
Cacique Caribe | 18 Feb 2009 9:02 a.m. PST |
Does anyone know the FoW website enough to find out where they keep their tents? link I can't seem to find any at all. CC |
infojunky | 19 Feb 2009 12:30 p.m. PST |
For containers I use HO 20foot supplied my local train hobby store. While they are a little large I generally get 4 for about $8.00us. Athern is the brand name for the bulk of mine. There is a german Train company that makes container Offices in the same scale, but I don't recall the name of the company

Does anyone know where I could find actual pictures of these, and not just sketches? link Thanks. CC PS. Plus I still haven't found any tents in the FOW site. |
Cacique Caribe | 07 Mar 2009 1:49 p.m. PST |
Either that, or I may need to start cutting up lots of little tiny triangular pieces to make something like this: link CC |
Covert Walrus | 07 Mar 2009 8:00 p.m. PST |
Heres an idea: Ask Jon at GZG or Nic at Eureka if they would sell you the containers form some of the FT cargo ships. They would make neat crates and shipping pallets in 15mm, especially the double truncated pyramid ones for the MT305 Hamburg modualr freighter IIRC

I keep coming back to stuff like this: picture link link picture The problem is that I can't even begin to figure out how to make something like it for 15mm, even one with minimal triangular pieces. PLEASE, any suggestions out there? If so, could you share those ideas at this other thread? TMP link Thanks. CC |

Food containers? My wife (who has spent many an hour watching me standing in hardware stores, clutching an oddly shaped junction box or pack of plastic pipe joints with a faraway look in my eyes) saved some cup cake trays for me. I immediately saw six 15mm scale geodesic tents or buildings, depending on paintjob. |

Below is a reduced preview of a 15mm scale paper tent PDF file that includes two different geodesic tents and one standard tent plus add on labels / signs as well as a wooden crate. We plan to release this PDF in the next few days, once we finish writing a rudimentary instruction. link If you have any ideas for additional materials, please post them here. |
