I see that Matakishi has done some ABOVE ground gaming terrain:

matakishi.com/area51.htm

But has anyone done any recent terrain projects for BELOW ground action that could work for an AREA-51 setting? If so, any terrain photos and ideas?

Something like this would be fantastic:

Do you remember the original Star Wars Dark Forces game for the PC? This is years ago. You could download a program called Dark Forge. This would allow you to grab the image files from the game. Alot of them are perfect for this kind of setting. Print on cardstock or paper and apply to foamcore. Exactly like the World Works stuff.

Tells how long ago it was. Dark Forge was for the Mac version…..

We started a project using paper, wood, and foam board.

Specifically for Star Wars, but it is pretty generic:

Those are nice files. Very easy to work with too. I managed to get most before the web page went bloowie.

The Dark Forces was a little more generic though. It was more concrete and masonry type of files. Very little was actually identifiable as Star Wars….

Check out Hirst Arts. Look at the Sci-Fi walls, pipes, floors and such. There are some pretty god pics there.

I use Space Hulk and Legions of Steel corridors.

You can also use terrain tiles from AT-43 and Lego/Duplo Blocks for the walls.

I'm planning to make some terrain using the Hirst Arts sci-fi molds over the next few months. I'll be focusing on modular wall sections and props rather than floors or rooms.

Any pictures of scratch-built sets in the process of being built? And then pics of it being used in a game?
