Has anyone done a game with multiple levels or platforms where one could be fighting on all levels at once, with stairs, elevators, escalators or ramps, and do you have pictures? I'm getting an idea with a few plastic selves!

The old GW game Necromunda was like that. Do Google searches; should be a lot of articles out there with pictures.

Back in the good old days of White Dwarf they did a Space Hulk/ Necromunda game with a four sided board with 20 or so levels. You could only look at board sections where you actually had figures. Here is a link:

If I had the space Id love to build something similar.

In the old days I was entertaining a physical model dungeon like that. But I talked myself out of it because storing it would have been impractical in the extreme. I settled for boring old felt rooms, halls and caves, just the floors you understand….

Many, many, many games of Necromunda, using the GW cardstock floors with plastic bulkheads with built-in ladders. Added in the various 40K cardstock scenery too (those had walls). Here's a piccy from boardgamegeek:

Litko makes something similar now, but in wood:

I have seen some amazing tabletops filled with Worldworks cardstock terrain, specifically:

And Red Sector:

There is a third set in this series: Battleground

Sadly, their old piccys forum died, and I don't think their new one has anywhere near as many photos.

However, I saved those photos for my own use, and tracked down the guys name, and he has his own website. Curt Voiles is the guys name, and here is a link to a PDF showing off some of his Sci-Fi constructs:

There are two other PDFs you can get to from his site that show other SciFi builds. curtvoiles.com

WOW! Some of the stuff at one guys site is great! I'm getting ready to redo the wifes panty complete rip out and she has 5 of the Plano Selves link and I was just thinking of turning them into some thing I have a 1700 sq. ft. basement so putting them somewhere is not problem or just use them for stoage of the stuff I just seen here mmmmmmmmmm something to think about

There's also Antenociti's Infinity table from Salute 2010, although it's individual buildings instead of a single complex.

I keep thinking about it, but the storage issue keeps killing the idea. Maybe if I worked for a gaming company…

Cacique Caribe09 Apr 2012 4:23 p.m. PST

Does this look cool or what?

We play 3D urban but simplify it a bit. You move up and down and through buildings using a 1/2 D20 as a move. We ignore stairs and doors as the buildings are overscale. But do force a 1 figure per window limit if you want to get cover. Also force a 45 deg limit when fireing out of a window and getting cover. This leads to very complex games not for the faint hearted but fun;-). Currently we do not require mouse holing of walls. I know its an AD but you get the idea.
