Plays largely DBM, although DBR, DBA and HOTT put in an appearance occasionally - even some WRG 7th edition. Both 15mm and 25mm are played, sometimes 6mm, but phone beforehand or contact Martin if you want to make sure of a game in other than 15mm.
There are about 30+ members, with usual attendance 15-20. We meet on the third Sunday of every month at the RAAF Club, Cromwell Street, South Yarra.
Normally, Rory from The Military Bookroom and Brian Hall of The Hall of Ancient Warriors are in attendance. The League is also responsible for organising the Victorian DBM Titles. We play a large variety gaming periods: Warhammer 40K, Ancient & Medieval DBM (15mm), World War II (1/76th), Napoleonics (15mm & 25mm), American Civil War, Renaisance DBR (15mm), various naval/aerial combat, and roleplaying (AD&D, Rifts, Werewolve, Twilight 2000, Starwars, MiddleEarth).
Established in 1977, the club membership totals 80-100 with an attendance of 40-70 members each weekly meeting. New members and visitors welcome. Contact us in advance and we'll arrange a game for you, or an opponent. Membership is A$25.00 per 12 months, includes club quarterly magazine The Armchair General.
Friendly club tournaments held each year in all popular gaming periods (numbers permitting).
Two comfortable venues, located in Eastern suburbs, are used for gaming Friday evenings or all Saturday. Canteen facilites provide snacks, drinks, and hot/cold food at reasonable prices.
