Any reviews / playtest AARs, or other material about the game we can see before we buy?

Thanks,

JJ

Hmmm may have to give this a whirl.

Is this any relation to the old Milgamex game of the same name from the 70s?

Spooner624 Jun 2014 1:57 p.m. PST

I will have to give these reviews a read this afternoon. I am always looking for Medieval rules to try out.

Thanks
Chris.

No, it's not.

I purchased a copy on the web site. Is the PDF distribution automated or is it manual?

Marshal Mark24 Jun 2014 3:54 p.m. PST

It's manual. I've just sent you them.

Kmfisher24 Jun 2014 4:04 p.m. PST

These look really interesting, I'll be picking them up soon.

Look interesting, just ordered a copy.

Can I make an observation – the "Add to cart" button is grey on a grey background….. Spot the problem, took me ages to find it!!!

Marshal Mark25 Jun 2014 7:10 a.m. PST

Yes, I knew that was a problem. I couldn't figure out how to fix it but I've just changed the background colour which makes it easier to see the button.

Got my copy as well yesterday. A print-friendly version is also available by request, which I also got.

These sound like a great game for my son and his friends, just starting out in ancients. Eagerly awaiting them!

Who asked this joker25 Jun 2014 12:37 p.m. PST

Just ordered. Looking forward to the rules.

So I guess there's no copyright problem with using a title that's been used before?

So I guess there's no copyright problem with using a title that's been used before?

As far as I know, no, there's not. There are many cases of boardgames having the same name as previous games.

The other rules in question were written 40 years ago, and I don't think there is any danger of confusion.

There's an article about copyright law and how it applies to game titles and content here :

The subtitles are different besides. I think it should be fine. There probably isn't much chance of Milgamex rising from the grave and suing the pants off of you. grin

CptKremmen26 Jun 2014 12:40 p.m. PST

Had a quick read of my set and they look very interesting. Armati and Impetus are favourites of mine and I can see they feel more like those rules and DBA/DBM/FOG which I have long since given up on
