Take a look at what Randall was able to do.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but the Reptilliads are still available from RAFM. You just need to tell them that you are interested in some, and they will cast what you need.

I plan on adding to the Reptilliad army I already have by the addition of some of the Newer Phalangites. I currently have 12 elements of Reptilliad Phalangites of the original type (The old ones), that I plan on using as Inferior Phalangites (sort of a comparison to the Pantodapoi), and then getting some of the newer ones to use as Peztaroi and Hypaspist Phalangites (The armored first row as Hypaspists, and the second and thrid/forth rows as Pezetaroi).

And, they make some Reptilliads that can be used as a sort of Imperial Roman Legionnaire looking Reptilliads (If I could find some supplier of the oval Scutum, I could use them for Ceasarian Romans as well, or maybe a bit earlier Marian Romans… But, the older ones already more or less can be used that way… Maybe modifying the Halberdmen (who have a bronze pectoral) as Hastati and using some of the Phalangites as Triarii, and you could do a Camillan/Polybian Reptilliad army as well…

There are so many things that you can convert these minis to be as well…

These will go well with the new LoTR Orcs/Goblins and Easterlins I am odering (As opponents).

I wish that I could find something like the Reptile/bug looking allies of the Tau (Vespids?) in 15mm… But, I think that I will probably get some to mix with some of the Kroot anyway

This would be absolutely fantastic, if possible in a miniature:

Star Trek "Enterprise" just aired an episode with "Arkonians".

Very Drac-like:

looking good CC. You certianly have ALOT of projects on the go.

For your lizardmen warriors- if you were to make more, what about trying it with the lizardmen saurus warrior legs to make them look more reptillian. I would add a tail for the same reason to make them look less humanoid.
What guns do you plan on using?

This is interesting:

I do like the idea of a tail though.

I wonder if these could be made to look reptilian:

From CC

'This guy looks perfect for the part. All I need to do is replace the scimitar with a more high-tech weapon:

If he is a one-of figure, then I guess I will use him as a single reptilian humanoid stranded on Earth'.

Question;
Can anyone tell me how tall he is – I work in 40mm and the figure looks good, but I want to know if he will fit in with my collection.

Are there any new SF Reptilians out now, since this thread was first started?

Were I-kore Void Koralons ever mentioned? They may be OOP(?) currently, but still around some places. Does huminoid from the waist up only count?

I think of them as Nagas, arms, but move on snake tails.

Maybe it's finally time for there to be "Voths" in 15mm:

On a similar note, anyone know of an avian (non-winged) humanoid that could carry a similar look with an evolved feathered dino approach?

Cacique Caribe25 Oct 2010 8:38 a.m. PST

Borathan,

You mean something like this?

Somewhat, I'm trying to work out an evolved version of a raptor for something I've been working on

TheBeast Supporting Member of TMP28 Oct 2010 7:54 a.m. PST

@Borathan

People talk about bird guys usually mention GW Kroot, which have been mentioned for the reptilian part of the thread, but they are more Parrot-heads.

The bodies DO taste like chicken…

They don't strike me as raptor-like, though, so I'm just mumbling.

CC, do you actually play wargames?

I'm curious, as most of your posts have been

(a) collections of links
(b) necromancy of your own threads containing such links

Since you can't see me smiling as I look through this thread, I will add I do not mean this in a nasty way. I just can't figure what is going on!

Do you have a big collection of minis? Have you made the plunge and bought those figures you were interested in 2007?

Do you have a wargame blog? I am curious about the man behind the bizarre posts :-)

Cacique Caribe30 Oct 2010 10:08 p.m. PST

EvilleMonkeigh,

All good questions!

Here are over 2 pages of things I've worked on these last few years. Some of it is planning. Others are incomplete terrain or conversion projects. A few are complete ones.

link

Unfortunately, because of increased work travel in 2008 and 2009 and, more recently, with my my arm surgeries and then my 86-year old Mom's declining health, I haven't had any time to game much.

Instead, I've had to enjoy games vicariously through you guys. And, when possible, I revisit old topics to see if new things have come along that will make those projects finally see the light.

Hope that helps a little.

Dan
PS. But, despite all the chaos of late, my pile of lead keeps growing. In fact, more so now that I've taken the plunge into 15mm. :)

Borathan10 Nov 2010 1:28 p.m. PST

For the more raptorish look, I'm wondering about the Hasslefree Delgon

link

The bodies wouldn't work, but the heads look possible. Anyone got some as the pics aren't that good at looking at the head.

Little Big Wars10 Nov 2010 2:29 p.m. PST

I will say this for CC, though I find his amazing threadromancy irritating at points, he is a swirling hurricane of wargaming ideas. At this point in time I am almost willing to bet that CC will have come up with every possible outlandish wargaming idea that will ever be thought up before the end of his life. That and his corkboard rock formations/hills have been an inspiration.

I raise my Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster to you, CC. Cheers.
