Wow. I had not heard of him in ages, since I was in my teens. Look at this: link CC |

Heh. I remember Thundarr. He was cool for his time. They adapted him to the "Over the Edge" game system? Wow. I didn't know that was still in print! It was an interesting game, but a bit too literal for my liking. Still, fun in its own way, though. |

Hey, back in 1980, THUNDARR rocked! Wow! Brandon Blackmoor reworked his site. Looks great! Yeah, the Reconnaissance in Force – Wastelands and Trailer Parks pages are always a joy to behold. And I reeeeeeally want those THUNDARR miniatures! And the Ark II minis, while I'm thinking of it: link Valley of the Man-Apes: link Al | rivetsandsteam.com |

man, I'd forgotten about that site. Glad to have it brought to my attention again. Anybody know what the 'Snark' rules he uses for the skirmishes are? |

Thundarr used to be on the cable channel Boomerang and I caught a few episodes over the last year. It aged better than I thought and I even got to see the episode about recharging the SunSword. |

Man! If those are on the market, they must be mine! Thundar was the coolest cartoon next to Jonny Quest! I hope the Thundarr was not a conversion. |
Col Mustard | 24 Mar 2006 5:13 p.m. PST |
I emailed 'em about Thundarr and this is what they said. "I sent your question to the person who brought them to the game. He said "The Thundarr figure is an old Reaper barbarian fig with some some minimal putty, the Ookla is a hero-clix sasquatch with some moderate mods (sanding/some putty) and the ariel was an old ral partha slave dancer fig re-painted to look like ariel." He didn't have exact figure numbers, but I hope this helps." Dang ! |

Awesome! Thanks Colonel. I tried to email them right after I found this thread, but my message bounced. Now I know. They're great. Legion |

I looked all over for the Thundarr cartoons, to no avail. I had to cheat and downloaded them torrent style. I tried to follow the link to the wizkids site and my security blocked it saying it's an "attack site". "This web site at wizkidsgames.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences. "Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system. "Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners." Ted Arlauskas – Do you have a link to a downloadable of the Savage Worlds Thundarr PDF? |

I also put The Herculoids up there with Thundarr. And Johnny Quest
old & new series. I'd love to get my hands on a copy of the Johnny Quest cartoons!! I gotten some of my pulp scenario ideas from the Quest cartoons. "Moks hate Attack Sites!" Moks hate Ambush Sites even more! ;) Ted, are you still out there? I'd really like to get my hands on a copy of that Savage Worlds Thundarr. |

Good miniature picture of Thundarr & crew. picture "The barbarian figure is a converted Reaper mini, #02233 Dantrag, The Big Leonine fellow is a conversion of the "Sasquatch" HeroClix figure, and the lovely Sorceress is a conversion of an old Ral Partha Dancer miniature. " |

What is everyone's opinion on this miniature being a possible for Ariel? link Didn't she used to put her hands up like that to cast spells? I know the outfit isn't quite right, but it can be painted her usual colors. Hey, so what if it's a new outfit. So she changed clothes (although cartoon characters NEVER changed clothes). |

Eagerly awaiting these on DVD. Boomerang (the spinoff cable channel from Cartoon Network) tends to show them pretty regularly at one in the morning, or so. Oh, and if you're into 15mm figs, you might want to check out this pack from Superfigs. Three of the sculpts look familiar

I think the biggest challenge would be to make terrain that looks like the apocalyptic event took place centuries before. I think the show mentions 2000 years post-event, right? Wikipedia says 3994 AD: link I imagine it would be much like the Forbidden Zone in the Planet of the Apes (3978 AD): link link CC |

Awesome!!! Please take a few before and after pictures of the painted figures, preferably next to other figures*. Looking at the figures in-the-metal is really extremely useful. Thanks! CC * And, when you take the pictures, please put a link here, on this other thread: TMP link |

I've seen a few of the episodes on youtube.com. It's interesting that I never saw it during the time it was on. I was running a Gamma World campaign at the time and I was asked the question so much that I completely ignored it. There should be a system (rpg) coming up soon to run it based on the "Barbarians of Lemuria" rpg. It's to be called: "Barbarians of the Apocalypse." It looks to be a good one from the comments of the playtesters so far. Mugwump |

I liked Thundarr episodes so much I went ahead and burned them to Dvd when they were on Boomarang. They are virtually commercial free. I think Birdman is on the last 5 minutes or so of each half hour. I got a dozen or more episodes, IIRC. Thanks, John |
