Waiting endlessly for the above mentioned figures to someday be released, and when that happens what armor should the Chigs use?? The only look at armor in the show wasn't very impressive. So any thoughts on the matter. |
LoudNinjaGames | 20 Nov 2014 12:37 p.m. PST |
GZG's Kra'vak armor might look right alongside of them

Irish Marine | 20 Nov 2014 12:54 p.m. PST |
Yeah , that looks cool, but what else. |
Richard Gaulding | 20 Nov 2014 12:55 p.m. PST |
Given the stylings of their space fighters, I'm recommend Covenant tanks from the Halo series. There's a line of them that should be 15mm compatible. |

You are going to be hard pressed to find anything out there that looks really alien without going full bug. -Eli |

The Chig's T-77:
I do like the suggestion Devilinthedetails gave. Dan PS. I'm sure the figures have been ready for a good 9-10 months now. They are just down in the vault somewhere. TMP link TMP link TMP link |

Those chigs look really great! Look forward to their release! Did they ever release the marines? |

There's also Khurasan's not-yet-released Soriog vehicles, or the Planetfall minis from Spartan Games ( link ). While nominally 10mm scale, many of the vehicles are large enough to make decent medium-sized 15mm vehicles. Heavy vehicles are on 100x70mm bases (and pretty well fill the base), while medium vehicles are on 60x40mm bases (again, pretty well filling the base). [sorry, can't link images from Spartan Games easily…] If you're particularly well-funded, you could get the DP9 hovertanks. I particularly like the Hetatiroi Spark (it has a particle cannon instead of a large-caliber gatling or conventional tank gun):
The classic Heavy Gear hovertank is the CEF's HT68:
While both of those hovertanks are expensive, they are also quite big, roughly the size of a 28mm M24 Chaffee. |

I'll be making a vehicle for them too, about the same size as the human droids, except the Acarine vehicle will be crewed I reckon. The Acarines are finally being painted -- got the first test paintup today! |

How about a couple of old GZG grav tanks now produced by Deamonscape although they are meant for true 25mm what with scale creep they should be a good size for 15mm. As for the grav vehicles posted below i think they have some interesting shapes and angles that gives them a very Chig feel like there angular fighters especially the top one maybe with an alternative flatter turret. Thanks everyone great ideas. And I hope the Chigs and Marines will be out soon, I don't need painted samples to know I want to buy them. |
khurasanminiatures | 21 Nov 2014 6:12 a.m. PST |
That may be true but presentation going out into the years these are available will be essential to the line earning out. |
Irish Marine | 21 Nov 2014 6:48 a.m. PST |
Oh I understand that, when I had my own company we did that as well with our 15mm figures but for some lines when people asked about we just posted un painted figures and then later on painted. |
Cacique Caribe | 21 Nov 2014 9:57 a.m. PST |
Irish Marine, That's the sensible approach, if you ask me. Better customer service than making customers wait unnecessarily for over half a year, putting all their plans on hold, for figures that can be sold already. It wouldn't be so bad if the hype-building announcements didn't start so prematurely. Gets everyone excited, thinking, planning, getting rules and terrain, followed by a long sit and wait. A bit cruel I think. Dan |

I am glad that Khurasan doesn't release everything right away…I'd be broke and buried under a mountain of lead. Anyway, Khurasan is built on making eccentric lines of minis that nobody else is doing… we might as well expect an eccentric business style too. |
khurasanminiatures | 21 Nov 2014 2:47 p.m. PST |
So from the last two posts, it sounds like I'm cruel and unusual. |
BlackWidowPilot | 21 Nov 2014 10:45 p.m. PST |
So from the last two posts, it sounds like I'm cruel and unusual. Only in the sense that as Logain said, you keep releasing eccentric and eccentrically wonderful top quality product that we the devout of the Khurasan Cult cannot acquire fast enough, so any and all delays in release always feel like the lashing of a white hot cat-o-nine-tails to our Khurasan-obsessed psyches…

unusual? no. or is it the other way around? Either way it's not both. where's those Second Wave Karks Jon? ;) :p Back on topic, does the Armor for the Chigs have to be tanks? Falling Skies uses Mecha. Could your Chigs do the same? You have a range to use. From Ravenstar's landcore line, to alien walkers, to the weirder styled stuff from Blue Moon Thanks to devilindetails for linking my photobucket account. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :) |
AVAMANGO | 22 Nov 2014 9:23 a.m. PST |
Back on topic, does the Armor for the Chigs have to be tanks? No but they were in one of the episodes i don't remember which episode it was but in that particular one there were several Chig tanks trying to take out a lone British tank, and if my memory serves me correctly the Chig tanks looked like a solid grav sled with a turret.

It's going to be something like that, only I think that looks a little pinheaded. I think Gordon and Wing sort of cheaped out on the tank design TBH. |
Gokiburi | 22 Nov 2014 10:59 a.m. PST |
Loud Ninja's Chuhuac APCs have a bit of that angular, almost Tholian quality that Chig fighters have. link |

AVAMANGO | 22 Nov 2014 11:09 p.m. PST |
Thanks Dan ive not seen that in quite a while, and i also like Gokiburi suggestion to use the Loud Ninja's Chuhuac APC as a Chig APC or IFV due to it having those angular armoured panels which i think are very in keeping with Chig vehicles as i have already stated. |

I think Gordon and Wing sort of cheaped out on the tank design TBH. Now THAT'S cruel and unusual… ;->= You DO keep them fired up, don't you? Doug |
