I'm working on a NF range but I'm one of those people who thinks it's not quite sci-fi without aliens in the mix! The Acarines are tallish aliens who attack United Systems outposts in space for initially mysterious reasons. They are technologically advanced and wear heavy armour for protection as well as to provide an artificial environment, because they do not breathe oxygen. This inhibits tactical flexibility a bit but it also provides considerable defence against small arms fire.

Here's most of them -- six poses of troopers with the standard issue plasma rifle, two troopers with heavy plasma guns, and two dignitaries (noble caste commanders) with hand weapon. Still to be made are two poses of hand flame-unit troopers -- just the perfect weapon for close encounters with the "hairy odour beasts" as they call humans!

A bit difficult to make out in the pictures but the helmet has a pair of eye slits (or are they?) on the large domed top. I'm very excited about these fellows and they might even coax me into painting something!

Very nice figures! A great variety of poses too…

The helmets also look great and alien without looking outlandish.

Grumpy Monkey02 Jan 2014 8:43 a.m. PST

I agree MM, that's exactly my thought as well.

They look great!

Umpapa02 Jan 2014 10:12 a.m. PST

That is why we love You. :)

Very cool figures! Great poses!

Tehakla02 Jan 2014 10:52 a.m. PST

well… there goes my paycheck

Lion in the Stars02 Jan 2014 10:52 a.m. PST

Excellent!

Now where did I bury the Rebel Minis troopers?

Oh yeah, K, will there be some variety of Intra Solar System Cargo Vehicle to go along with the United Systems troops?

Cacique Caribe02 Jan 2014 11:22 a.m. PST

Love it! As always, the question will be how soon will it be before they can be ordered.

Hoo more 15mm goodness.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut02 Jan 2014 1:50 p.m. PST

These don't look particularly "alien" to me, more like humans using organic or biomechanical equipment. Anyways, that's my plan for them. I was looking for something to set my Hiver-client humans apart from the Imperium and their clients.

Cacique Caribe02 Jan 2014 2:27 p.m. PST

Then think of them as "humanoids" with large helmets housing a cephalopod parasite that attaches to their heads and controls their every move!

Wolfprophet02 Jan 2014 2:36 p.m. PST

Those came out nicely.

Redroom02 Jan 2014 6:15 p.m. PST

impressive, really would like to get these

ancientsgamer02 Jan 2014 6:34 p.m. PST

Good proxies for 15mm Eldar too. Very nice just as the rest of the stuff you make!

Grimmnar02 Jan 2014 7:48 p.m. PST

The Chigs' are looking pretty sweet I must say.
When shall they be up on the site for sale?

And speaking of the site, when will your site be back up so we can look around? I know you say the store is down for a few days right now, but that means we cant look around the site?

Grimm

War Monkey02 Jan 2014 7:52 p.m. PST

Very nice indeed, can't wait to see them come out

khurasanminiatures02 Jan 2014 8:57 p.m. PST

I know you say the store is down for a few days right now, but that means we cant look around the site?

Yes. I have hundreds of codes available. I can't do all the HTML to remove the paypal buttons whilst keeping the store pages up. My website is self-built, it's not one of those shake-and-bake webstores.

The store will be back sometime next week. Right now I am working to reduce my backlog of orders. That said, products continue to be developed, sculpted, cast, and painted for display.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian02 Jan 2014 9:16 p.m. PST

… it's not one of those shake-and-bake web stores.

So you didn't go with the Weyland-Yutani models, eh? evil grin

Now I just need some United States Marine Corps Space Aviators. That and an R. Lee Ermy figure.

GypsyComet06 Jan 2014 9:58 p.m. PST

Will the command figures look like Black Manta?

khurasanminiatures06 Jan 2014 10:48 p.m. PST

What's that?

Eli Arndt07 Jan 2014 6:01 a.m. PST

He's referring to a DC Comics villain. The Crimes bear a slight resemblance to that villain's henchmen in one incarnation of the character. The resemblence is very vague but I can see it.

Personally I think you have done a great job of presenting a solid version of the original source inspiration for these aliens.

khurasanminiatures07 Jan 2014 6:13 a.m. PST

Ok, I thought it was a Tau thing. grin

Eli Arndt07 Jan 2014 7:09 a.m. PST

Yeah, I can see that grin

GypsyComet25 Jan 2014 10:17 a.m. PST

If you can hit an homage to the Tau aesthetic in their vehicles, you may sell a bunch. It's a style so far under-represented in 15mm

AWuuuu25 Jan 2014 11:50 a.m. PST

Great !!

There were no cool and fully armored aliens.

stroezie25 Jan 2014 12:25 p.m. PST

+ 1 for the R. Lee Ermy figure.

Logain25 Jan 2014 4:13 p.m. PST

Yeah it is nice to see more aliens in gear to protect them from hostile environments.

Cacique Caribe26 Jan 2014 5:58 p.m. PST

So … How tall are the cast figures really, from toe to top of helmet*?

Or when compared next to your USMC humans:

While I'm a bit sad to hear that they're stuck in the pipeline, it gives me time to find $$…

grommet3728 Apr 2014 12:48 p.m. PST

I like these a lot.

I just did the math last night, and I won't get to the aliens until at least next summer (their [huge] part in the story is not revealed until much later). So, no hurry. Will be added to shopping list. :)

War Monkey23 Jan 2018 9:46 p.m. PST

I'm still waiting, good thing I'm not holding my breath.
