I'm working on a NF range but I'm one of those people who thinks it's not quite sci-fi without aliens in the mix! The Acarines are tallish aliens who attack United Systems outposts in space for initially mysterious reasons. They are technologically advanced and wear heavy armour for protection as well as to provide an artificial environment, because they do not breathe oxygen. This inhibits tactical flexibility a bit but it also provides considerable defence against small arms fire. Here's most of them -- six poses of troopers with the standard issue plasma rifle, two troopers with heavy plasma guns, and two dignitaries (noble caste commanders) with hand weapon. Still to be made are two poses of hand flame-unit troopers -- just the perfect weapon for close encounters with the "hairy odour beasts" as they call humans! A bit difficult to make out in the pictures but the helmet has a pair of eye slits (or are they?) on the large domed top. I'm very excited about these fellows and they might even coax me into painting something!

Very nice figures! A great variety of poses too
The helmets also look great and alien without looking outlandish. |
Grumpy Monkey | 02 Jan 2014 8:43 a.m. PST |
I agree MM, that's exactly my thought as well. They look great! |

Excellent! Now where did I bury the Rebel Minis troopers? Oh yeah, K, will there be some variety of Intra Solar System Cargo Vehicle to go along with the United Systems troops? |

Love it! As always, the question will be how soon will it be before they can be ordered. Dan TMP link |

These don't look particularly "alien" to me, more like humans using organic or biomechanical equipment. Anyways, that's my plan for them. I was looking for something to set my Hiver-client humans apart from the Imperium and their clients. |
Cacique Caribe | 02 Jan 2014 2:27 p.m. PST |
Then think of them as "humanoids" with large helmets housing a cephalopod parasite that attaches to their heads and controls their every move! Dan |

The Chigs' are looking pretty sweet I must say. When shall they be up on the site for sale? And speaking of the site, when will your site be back up so we can look around? I know you say the store is down for a few days right now, but that means we cant look around the site? Grimm |
War Monkey | 02 Jan 2014 7:52 p.m. PST |
Very nice indeed, can't wait to see them come out |

I know you say the store is down for a few days right now, but that means we cant look around the site? Yes. I have hundreds of codes available. I can't do all the HTML to remove the paypal buttons whilst keeping the store pages up. My website is self-built, it's not one of those shake-and-bake webstores. The store will be back sometime next week. Right now I am working to reduce my backlog of orders. That said, products continue to be developed, sculpted, cast, and painted for display. |
BlackWidowPilot | 02 Jan 2014 9:16 p.m. PST |
it's not one of those shake-and-bake web stores. So you didn't go with the Weyland-Yutani models, eh?

Eli Arndt | 07 Jan 2014 6:01 a.m. PST |
He's referring to a DC Comics villain. The Crimes bear a slight resemblance to that villain's henchmen in one incarnation of the character. The resemblence is very vague but I can see it. Personally I think you have done a great job of presenting a solid version of the original source inspiration for these aliens. -Eli |
khurasanminiatures | 07 Jan 2014 6:13 a.m. PST |
Ok, I thought it was a Tau thing. |
Eli Arndt | 07 Jan 2014 7:09 a.m. PST |
Yeah, I can see that |
GypsyComet | 25 Jan 2014 10:17 a.m. PST |
If you can hit an homage to the Tau aesthetic in their vehicles, you may sell a bunch. It's a style so far under-represented in 15mm |
AWuuuu | 25 Jan 2014 11:50 a.m. PST |
Great !! There were no cool and fully armored aliens. |
stroezie | 25 Jan 2014 12:25 p.m. PST |
+ 1 for the R. Lee Ermy figure. |
Logain | 25 Jan 2014 4:13 p.m. PST |

Cacique Caribe | 26 Jan 2014 5:58 p.m. PST |
So
How tall are the cast figures really, from toe to top of helmet*? Or when compared next to your USMC humans: TMP link Dan * Boatload of our suggestions here: TMP link |

I like these a lot. I just did the math last night, and I won't get to the aliens until at least next summer (their [huge] part in the story is not revealed until much later). So, no hurry. Will be added to shopping list. :) |
War Monkey | 23 Jan 2018 9:46 p.m. PST |
I'm still waiting, good thing I'm not holding my breath. |
