Okay I need some 25mm primatives to fight my Atlanteans, kinda of an at the Earth's Core game. A bronze age civilization holding off barbaric semi-humans. I do have a tight budget so I was considering the Wargames Factory Orcs, but that's my last resort. Thanks Mike |

Who makes those primitive orcs, Bueada? |
timurilank | 28 Jun 2011 11:59 a.m. PST |
If you were thinking about Orcs, then – ESAIR TROGS - from Baueda might work. link There is even a US distributor. Cheers, |

Yeah, the Bueada Trogs were my first choice, but initial cost and shipping was going to strain my budget. I'll probably need about 40-50 figs. Contacted Wargames to see if they still have some in stock. |

How about some berserkers or early germans they are usually pretty crude. |
John Leahy | 28 Jun 2011 12:20 p.m. PST |
Why not GW Lizardmen in plastic. You can use both the big and smaller figs. |
Mulligan | 28 Jun 2011 12:28 p.m. PST |
How about Pulp Figures and/or Copplestone Castings cavemen? Mulligan |

Lizardmen would be cool. You know you could just buy fewer Trogs and make them tougher. I am going to suggest some laser rifles for the Atlanteans. Nothing says "Atlantis" better than Mycenean Greeks with lasers. Surely someone produces them. |
The Gray Ghost | 28 Jun 2011 2:39 p.m. PST |
as you are going for 25mm what about Eurekas Tupi indians? |
D6 Junkie | 28 Jun 2011 3:12 p.m. PST |
No laser rifles for the Atlanteans! Though I could see a few 'mirrors of the gods' Lizardmen huh? That might be an option certainly would be within the budget. Might look at those Tupis, Keep the ideas coming guys. |

link Oh come on. Just imagine a few of the Atlanteans packing one of these! |
The Gray Ghost | 28 Jun 2011 4:01 p.m. PST |
what are you using for Atlanteans? |
The Gray Ghost | 28 Jun 2011 4:23 p.m. PST |
I have seen novice aztec warriors used as primitive warriors they usually come in just a loincloth and most are cast with open hands. |
D6 Junkie | 28 Jun 2011 4:24 p.m. PST |
Myceneans for Atlanteans/Lost civilization. Was hoping for a ERB style: last of an ancient race holding out against primatives. And no lasers, drummer boy! At least no obvious lasers. |
Greylegion | 28 Jun 2011 4:56 p.m. PST |
How about Twilight miniatures for your primitives. |

Maidenhead link link or Shadowforge 'tribals' link Better looking (and more 'realist', if you think about it) than any Orc / Troll. |

Hey Guys, I really appreciate all the ideas! Dan, You are most gracious, love to take a look at those figs. Mike |

Some cheap arrow fodder can be had from Castaway in his ancient range, Zagros Highlanders, Midianites and Philistines. Also check out His early Mahadists they are wearing a long cloth wrap called a tobe, I have about a hundred of these and I use them through different periods. |

Thanks Gray Ghost, I'll have to check those out. |

Cavemen? Very 'Pellucidar'! TMP link Black (can be painted in any skin color) Amazons? link To add variety to the Atlanteans, some 'Ancient-looking' minis elsewhere used as 'Barsoom Martians' can be inspirational; a few 'historical', most 'fantasy' ('humans' from Crocodile Games, for Tekumel, even Elves): TMP link rotanddrivel.com/Mars.htm TMP link The Cavalcade Amatzls look nice link but typically 'Mesoamerican', and the range is currently very limited. Then of course there are the Shadowforge 'Maiden Guards' for the Temples of Light and of Dark ('Fantasy' range) link Related thread (Hollow Earth / Earthcore): TMP link |
