After seeing the results of a one-week painting project on MacPhee's blog, I've decided to try the same thing with a project I've had sitting for a little bit. I picked up Rebel Minis' US Army Platoon set and am painting them up to use as Stargate Command troops and generic mid-tech scifi. I'm posting my progress on my blog and intend to be finished by this coming weekend.

Lots of helpful images, CC! There is more and more things on-line for information all the time. I will be building a 25mm cargo ship, a Tel-Tac, for my game at Origins this year. I had one in the game I put on last year, but it was "cloaked". :) Got away with that one in a pinch, but not again this year!

What are you using for Jaffa? The Gzg figs?

Thanks,

John

BillChuck01 Feb 2010 8:53 p.m. PST

Yep, I've got 30some GZG Egyptians waiting to be cleaned up for painting. Once I've got them ready I may do another one week project to paint those up. Assuming I can get these done in a week. :)

BillChuck,

Awesome progress so far. Would love to see some close-up photos as you get closer to completion.

Thanks.

How do the Rebel Minis figures match up to the GZG minis scale wise?

I'm working on basing them at the moment, once that's done I'll try to get some closeups.

Finally, after dealing with a bit of bronchitis, I've gotten to work on basing these guys. I've posted some closeup pictures on my blog.

BillChuck,

Nice work!

So, what's next? Terrain?

I don't know, depends on what catches my interest. I've got some stuff I have to have finished by Bayou Wars this June, so that's at the top of the pile.

Hi Bill

Thanks for the closeup pics – you've convinced me to get some of these as Mid-Tech Sci Fi grunts.

Cheers

Ah, my evil scheme is working perfectly. Muhahahaha!

If only I could remember what it was. Being an evil mastermind was much easier back before I became so absent minded.

You evil man, you!
