Would Mal and the rest do any better than the crew of the Nostromo? Would it make a good gaming scenario? Dan TMP link TMP link TMP link |

Could be a fun scenario. But based on how close they came to losing to the Reavers in the movie I'd put my $$$ on the Aliens. Also Mal and the team only carry fairly basic weapons – give them a few M41A1's then who knows. As a TV / Movie plot – it would depend on godlike all powerful script writer as always. |

I'd go with the aliens as well, since the plasma guns never seem to be charged, or fully charged for battle

River would probably "sense" them so I would give the edge to Mal and the crew. |
| Ron W DuBray | 31 Jan 2010 2:49 p.m. PST |
The first time one of the crew bags one of Ripply's bag guys the ship will have a meter sized hole in it letting out all the air. There does not look to be a lot of presser doors and bulkheads and lots of big open spaces on the firefly class ship .So the fact they seem to shoot first they are likely to hole their own ship on first sight of a xenomorph with its blood. |

I think those REAVERS are pretty darn SCAREY as they are! Humans driven 'beyond madness' to the point they mutilate themselves and delibertly expose themselves to unshielded cores in their engines??? (why aren't they all DEAD by now????) Unless they are mutated by the chemicals in the Pax AND the radiation combined into something
.different like 'rager-zombie-things'
.?? and suppose some of THEM ran into the xenomorphs??? Reaver-rager/zombie-exomorphs???? Now that idea really 'damages my calm'

Well no human unless properly prepared on gifted with the grace of the writer's preference would stand a chance against the xeno's, especially 1:1. With knowledge of what was to come, the enemy type, and such then the human's could offer more of a resistance. The more appropriate setting would be Serenity vs The Green Slime. The items found in Green Slime were things that you could find on Mal' boat
torch, food, water, pistol, etc.. |

Aliens vs. Crew of Serenity? Is that the premise of Alien Ressurection? The characters in in AR were the basis for the crew of the Serenity. |

No and Yes but only if I can be the Alien. |
| Cosmic Reset | 31 Jan 2010 8:21 p.m. PST |
I think the difference is that Mal wouldn't have let them get into the situation in the first place. |

Oh sure he would. Look at all of the attempts on the Attic. |

Well, no Ripley, so initially I'd think the Aliens have the edge. But River is uber-scary-psychic-killing-machine when need be, so the pendulum swings back that direction
At the very least, the Serenity crew would have more humorous and entertaining dialog, so there is always *THAT* |
Parzival | 02 Feb 2010 5:34 p.m. PST |
To begin with, Jayne would have shot the first "egg" they came across, revealing the "facehugger" inside (and killing it). After that, they'd have either hosed all the eggs or run like crazy or both. Edge to the Serenity crew, for not being stupid. |
| Thomas Whitten | 03 Feb 2010 10:54 a.m. PST |
Seeing as the eggs look like eggs, I would imagine Jayne thinking it was something that he could eat. He would be my choice for the one getting face hugged. Hell, since the Serenity crew seemly become stupied when large sums of money are at stake, I could see them being paid to gather some alien eggs. If they were given the same info as the Nostromo crew, I see them doing the exact same thing as the Nostromo crew. |

Well, my 15mm aliens have been ready for action for quite a while: link TMP link Now, all I need to do is paint my GZG and SLM crews and put them and the aliens together, in some interesting scenarios: link picture link I even bought one of these a while back: link Dan |
| RTJEBADIA | 09 Feb 2010 5:57 p.m. PST |
Definitely put my bet on Serenity's crew
. Only one alien, assuming no one got face hugged to bring the alien on board (say its a random passenger) then first person who comes across it would blast it to pieces. Remember how effective firearms are against those things in Aliens? Yea. It would take about two seconds for someone to draw a gun and shoot it, and the firefly is smaller with less hidey places, so I really think they would make quick work of it. THen the problem is the acid blood, but I don't think it would destroy the ship, justcause some internal damage. |

Remember how effective firearms are against those things in Aliens? Ah, but was the creature in the first movie the same as the creatures in the second? No. The creature in the first movie was the picture of stealth and psychological warfare. The creatures in the second movie, presumably because lots of them had all hatched together and were in the company of a queen, seemed diminished, mostly mindless xeno-grunts. They even had different heads. The stealthy infiltrator xeno had a smooth dome, whereas the "barbarian rush" xenos had ribbed heads. Hey, there's an idea

Then the problem is the acid blood, but I don't think it would destroy the ship, justcause some internal damage. Just a few drops of Alien blood ate through several decks of the Nostromo. If anyone blasted an Alien "to pieces" onboard the Serenity, they'd be sucking vacuum within seconds. |
| RTJEBADIA | 14 Feb 2010 3:19 p.m. PST |
Yea, but its been awhile since I saw Alien
.. I don't recall them ever using a real gun on it. My point was not that Serenity wouldn't take damage, my point is that they would survive
. when they saw that it was making a hole in the hull they would seal off that section as they do when they have a fire and what not

The ones in Aliens are being shot by some pretty high powered automatic weapons. The scene in Resurrection on the ladder shows how well they can evade regular gunfire |

Crazy idea alert . . . if Xenomorphs absorb some of the atributes of their host creature, what would happen if a Xenomorph chestbuster got into a fish??? TMP link Dan |

The crew of Serenity probably would have not let the infected crewmember out of the sickbay (which is sealed with a pressure door). If it did get away, Mal would have just got everybody into suits and vented all the atmo. |
