Last of the intercepter V-8! Be a shame to blow it up.

Would love to have somebody make that close to 28mm scale.

Warrenss204 Jul 2009 7:04 a.m. PST

"Would love to have somebody make that close to 28mm scale." – You could hunt down a 1/43 Ford Falcon model and go from there.

The closest 28mm non-interceptor equivalents (that would still need converting) are rather pricey diecasts.

Here's another option.

And the motorcycle too. grin

Horses and camels make sense with limited resources but if tech is available I would like one of these:

Good thread so far. I am glad that the horse was included in the initial lineup. I agree that horses, mules, donkeys, camels, even llamas and alpacas would be pretty popular.

It'd be interesting to see just how odd wildlife would be following a cataclysm. Lots of animals are present, in the US alone, that are not native to but that can survive in US habitats. The numbers of games farms, wild animal parks and private collections and hobby farms makes it quite possible to run into just about anything living wild in places they shouldn't normally be.

I always thought this one would be kind of cool.

It has already begun . . .

Let's just say I used to like to hike the Everglades. Not any more. Not with 30,000 of those things crawling about!

Eli Arndt04 Jul 2009 9:52 a.m. PST

CC,

They've likely been there the whole time you've been hiking, so I wouldn't worry. I'd still worry more about the gators and crocs getting me than the snakes.

Yeah, I also seem to recall reading someplace that there is a viable population of kangaroos living wild in France or something.

What about elephants? Elephants and mankind have worked together for centuries, would they still continue to do so following a cataclysm?

Cacique Caribe04 Jul 2009 9:58 a.m. PST

Unless it's breeding season, gators are no problem. I've swam with them.

Crocs – no way.

Pythons – no way.

There's wallabies living wild in Southern England, can't remember exactly where. Oh, and the beast(s) of Bodmin, Exmoor etc.

Cacique Caribe04 Jul 2009 11:05 a.m. PST

Speaking of vehicles . . . I love these for 15mm gaming:

Speaking of the V-8 Interceptor. I am using a 1/43 scale 1968 Chevy Camaro for my kit bash. Not a perfect match, but close enough to look good on the table. That and I happen to really like the '68 Camaro.

Here is a pic of a real 1968 Camaro for comparison

Warrenss204 Jul 2009 7:26 p.m. PST

That's a really good muscle car to go with for making the V-8 Interceptor.

I love muscle cars that get about 5gals to the mile.

Eli Arndt05 Jul 2009 5:03 p.m. PST

QRF's South African vehicles always struck me as very wasteland chic.

emu…what scale are those in?

Covert Walrus05 Jul 2009 7:10 p.m. PST

MLatch 221, thank you for sahring. Always though I was wierd for wanting to convert a SCUD or IRBM carrier truck into a Winnebago or similar tranport . . . Now I see I think like the guy and his pimped-out BTR.:)

emu2020, yes, wallabies have established populations in Eurpoe, America and her in NZ. Hardy little beasts, the macropoda are IMHO a good candidate for replacing apes as the next sentients on this planet….

Eli Arndt05 Jul 2009 7:24 p.m. PST

28mmMan,

Those are 15mm.

Covert Walrus,

See Tank Girl :)

I'm confussed which one was I suppose to ride?

alien BLOODY HELL surfer06 Jul 2009 5:53 a.m. PST

Wallabies are around Whipsnade Zoo I believe – I know they have them IN the zoo. So, probs around the herts/bucks/beds areas.

28mmMan06 Jul 2009 6:09 a.m. PST

Covert did the posting bug get you or am I missing something here?

Oh sorry I see now…I figured you got bumped from another post…lol.

Mileage or wear and tear aside, I'd lean towards the one that gives the smoother ride. wink

Or get me a saddle for one of these (plenty will be around after the fallout)

Or the poor man's version

There's Wallabies in the trossachs in Scotland, too – my dad almost ran one down.

richarDISNEY06 Jul 2009 10:41 a.m. PST

For the V-8 Interceptor, didn't HLBS do one for 1/48? I cannot seem to find it on their site now…huh?

AWESOME!!!!!

Mil Dot11 Jul 2009 11:04 p.m. PST

Unfortunitly they all may just end up like these
link just keep scrolling down this will give you the coolest ideas of what the coolest PA vehicles are. May not be cool to you but they are cool to them!

Warrenss212 Jul 2009 3:25 a.m. PST

Actually, Mil Dot, those are probably a more realistic idea of what our PA vehicles would look and be like.

I still think they're cool. Human ingenuity, with limited resources, at it's best.

Sisu XA-185 – nice

Insomniac12 Jul 2009 2:15 p.m. PST

Fuchs.

They are NBC safe, have armour plating and plenty of space for a small squad…so enough room for a family of four, are able to 'swim' and can also be armed with a variety of pintle weapons. Why they aren't on the 28mm man list of the ten best post apoc vehicles, is beyond me.

Warrenss213 Jul 2009 11:39 a.m. PST

laugh I did a google search for Fuch and turned up quite a bit of nude ladies. I'm certain that's NOT the PA ride your talking about so I went with the more obvious picture to post here…

NICE!

Here's an inspiring website.

Wish they were a scale I use.

How's this? Walmart has it for $3.97 USD

I know it says it is 1/64, but it is really 3.5 cm tall and 9 cm long:

Are those dimensions too massive for 15-18mm gaming figures?

This forum discussion implies that there might be a 1/87 model of that "Battle Rig":
