Imagine an off-world archaeological expedition, similar to those done by IPX in Babylon 5:

I think that the GZG techs and crew (SG15-V4 – 8 figs) look perfect for the part:

However, that's only 4 variants.

Are there any other suggestions from the group?

Thanks.

I use some of the characters from SG15-V1 -- the woman with the bag.
SG15-V2--all of them ,but especially the bloke without the hat ( Doctor Jones).
Also the kids pack make good students or creature fodder.

"Baueda ottoman tents make a good camp site??"

Oooo, forgot what to do about tents. Good one.

Thanks.

Speaking of tents, CC, have you noticed the infalatable walled items on Stargate SG1 episodes?

I certainly did, and have found a possible way to simulate them . . . Try finding a plastic bottel witha raised half-tube base ( The outer rim is raised like a torus ) and cut it along the vertical mold line. The result simulates the semi-rigid inflated roof and the Nissen hut shape nicely.

Not enough web-fu to give a photo reference, but thebottles are pretty common in pill continers for 6mm; The cutting evenly might be the challenge.

CW,

If there anything like the ones in the SST movie, I think that would be awesome!

I bought these for my 28mm figures, but would LOVE something like it for 15mm:

List of Star Trek archaeologists:

Maybe I'll try to do the terrain something like the ruins examined by expedition sent on the Star Trek episode called "The Man Trap":

More suggestions on what sort of ruins to make for those xeno/exo/astro-archaeologists to explore and get into trouble:

Check out the vehicle in this clip:

I think something like that would be perfect, provided it was for 15mm figures.

I guess the overall uniforms are the way to go with near-future off-world colonists:

Von Trinkenessen, I was able to order the other packs you suggested and now have a nice little group of xenoarchaeologists to paint. Thanks so much.

Also . . .

Does anyone know where I could find actual pictures of these tents, and not just sketches?

Thanks.

PS. Plus I still haven't found any tents in the FOW site: link

In the two light EVA sets from GZG, there are 5 variants in each (5 armed and 5 unarmed). Here are some photos of the armed variants:

I've just primed them and will be painting them in the next couple of days.

They will be my advance guard (interplanetary expeditions team) for a larger event on an, as yet, not terraformed world – where EVA suits are still a must:

Get `em ready son.

Andrew has painted some of the unarmed ones and posted them here:

Mine, of course, will be going into something more like this:

Hopefully, they won't end up having the same fate as the IPX team that went to Za'ha'dum:

In the last year or so, has anyone come up with NEW 15mm figures that could be used as off-world archaeologists and field scientists?

Or are there any in the works?

Thanks,

Dan

I like the GZG light and heavy Vacc-suit figs, for exploring in the absence of an atmosphere, or in a dangerous one.

Look out for the Sepulvedan resistance leader when it gets released, sounds right up this alley.
