Any one of you showed at least some potential interest in creating your own Lace Wars Imagi-Nation (or mentioned you already have one):

The State of Schwartzwaldeland derives its wealth from the gold, silver and lead mountain mines, gem mining, fur trading, and extensive farm lands. It was founded by an illegitimate scamp of the House of Welf.

I will be using maps of Idaho. I have sent for a copy of Ospreys Black Brunswickers. The Army will be dressed in black with Brunswick facing colors. Can't decide between Crusader or Front Rank Prussians. I haven't had time for much else, we've been battling record snowfall until this weekend. We might get some more tonight.

I liked the movie "Duchess" Based on Georgiana Cavendish.

Maybe promote her to Grand Duchess… Need to find a suitable fig.

Were there any Death's Head cavalry in SYW?

Prussian 5th Hussars, Von Ruesch under Frederick the Great wore Death's heads on their miriltons.

As I mentioned in one the TMP referred to. I an bouncing around with my SYW armies, as I read and learn new things attract me.
Wanted to start Austrians as ancestry gos back to Hungary, being Canadian the French for the F&IW appeals to me, knew nothing about French in India so want to laern about it, also didn't even know Sweden was involved in SYW, and the Eureka Club 100 Saxons have my attention also. So you can see I am all over the place.

I have not started an imagination but the idea appeals to me. Maybe when I am better versed in the SYW period I could create my nation (have a flag already in mind).

I haven't done much with my imagi-nation – no name, no background to speak of. Mostly just collecting interesting minis at this point.

I'm leaning toward a small but wealthy sovereign Caribbean island nation – and that's about as far as I've gotten.

Cheers!

Huzzah, Brian!
You're giving the example…

jpattern2: maybe your country became fully indepandant thanks to the disruptions of the War of Spanish Succession? It would allow it to be set -regardless of the old-fashioned ceremonial dress of its ruler- in this 'alternate' mid-18th C. Gulf of Mexico – Carribean area where tricorns meet Spaniards in morions, Pirates of the Carribean fashion.
I'm ready to buy it!

Nice, I like that idea. Think I'll run with it. Thanks!

jpattern2: Huzzah!
Please blog it when it commes!

I've gotten the 1st Rossonova (Hofflington) Musketeers painted up ( picture ), some gunners, and even a squadron of the Princess Alrya Hussars but as none of my local playmates also jumped onto the bandwagon as it creakingly rumbles into view, I won't be plunging in wholly.

When the mood strikes me I'll design flags and replace the Prussian ones that I have in use for the interim.

Without local impetus I don't expect that I will find the motivation to create a imagi-nation blog.

I have managed to convince at least one person to pursue an imagi-nation approach to the 28mm pike and shot armies we're going to start on when the plastics for it are released.

malcolmmccallum: you've done such a good start, keep your own pace but don't give up!
I'd really like to see the Princess Alrya Hussars – and how about Princess Alrya herself TMP link ?
Is Rossonova the name of your country?

All of you, remember you don't need neither a blog of your own (Jeff will give you a blogger ID), nor a single painted mini, nor a fully developped Imagi-Nation to join the 'Emperor vs Elector' emperor-elector.blogspot.com merry bunch.
A name and a few ideas about the location, political system and culture of your country -and your free-wheeling imagination- are quite enough for your debut. The company is very stimulating.
