Yep, I made this from probably the same storage carton design last year. Normally $3.95, I paid $1 USD each for them at a local dollar store. While at that time thinking that I had "invented" the idea, I was shown the skankgame site on this very forum. So much for my "genious" idea, lol. picture picture I currently have some of my towers at over three feet high, connected with skybridges. |

Guys, do you have any suggestions on how do make a portion of a collapsed (or partially submerged) freeway overpass? Not a big section, just a small piece that boats would have to go under and that defenders could use to fire from above, like the semi-submerged section on the far right of this photo? picture Here is another example of a flooded freeway: picture All I would be interested in making would be a single overpass section with 2 lanes going each way, with both ends under water. It could even work as an improvised landing site. Suggestions? CC |

Though done for WWII, this is interesting: link Though I like the broken skeletal look of the structures here, it is definitely too clean-looking: picture This is what one would expect: link link link CC |

Hey, CC, I use foamcore for my buildings (sorry, no pics, still in the build stages of the prototype), and basically have just left the sides of the buildings off (simulating blown-out windows), except where there's actually walls instead of glass. Also, please note that the WTC collapse was due to complete structural failure, not direct bombing/nuke effects. A nuke doesn't generate enough heat to weaken the steel core of a modern skyscraper, even though it might generate enough overpressure to knock it down. In all honesty, you might be better off looking at construction sites instead of pictures of WW2 construction. Beirut could provide good images, as could pictures of central baghdad, but most outlying buildings in iraq are poured concrete, similar in construction theory to WW2 buildings (strong walls, no core), as opposed to modern high-rises that have a strong core and are only effectively destroyed by attacking their core strength (whether WTC went down due to a 1500F fire weakening steel or controlled demo I don't even want to get into) |

Oh, there's this great line from one of the Princess Merideth stories by Laurell K Hamilton, where she comments that large parts of the city (I forget which one, but it's in Southern California) would be under 6-8 feet of glass in the event of a major earthquake in the 8.5 or higher range. |
