"Stifle Moratorium for 6 Months" Topic

How about a lifetime moratorium of stifles? FULL STOP

Or perhaps change the name to something a little less offensive?
Stifling people seems like they are being, you know, stifled.

If you have a name that implies something the stifler does to himself rather than to others it might help. 'Ignore', or 'do not listen to' might help.
And don't show how many people ignore each member.

Change the name of Stifle to "x number of people think you are an ."

I don't care about the name nor wheter stifles are discussed or not, but I'm for changing the name of the Dawghouse to The Cooler with Steve McQueen permanentely locked in it until Tom, Dick or Harry are opened and he gets a chance of escaping.

How about no one knows who has been stifled? Or knows how many have stifled them? Or indeed, that stifles exist outside of whomever that particular entity has stifled.

If people don't know that fewer than 0.001% of TMP readers have stifled them, perhaps they wouldn't be so fussed.

But without stifle counts Neotacha people wouldn't be able to say things like "198 stifles? Blimey, you must be a right pratt, I think I should stifle you myself" would they? :)

I find it great that the top ten of the most stifled contains three authors I always enjoy and the Editor is number 24!

I've never used the button but that's because I like the comedy value of the more outrageous posts – I'm one of those visitors who always has a look in the dawghouse.

Because of this I can understand why some people use it, not everyone has my taste in conversation.

Suprised that the vote was regarded as clear cut enough to justify the ban on mentioning the word that can no longer be mentioned.

I mean all it needed was for three people to change their minds and it would have gone the other way.

For the record, I voted yes before voting no, as I thought it was supposed to be a six month moratorium on s, not discussion of the subject. Not that I normally care about it, but I don't think anyone should be prohibited from discussing anything, unless it's inappropriate for the fora.

Does this mean that those who, in the past, have you-know-what-meed in the past will now be confronted with my comments or is it that just the word has been banned?
