Stifles
- On my Profile page, it says I have a Stifle. What is that?
- A stifle is when another TMP member has chosen to block your forum posts so that he cannot see them.
- I'm offended!
- Why? It's their loss, not yours...
- Can I find out who did this to me?
- No.
- Should I be concerned?
- If you only have 1 or 2 Stifles - from a community of thousands of TMP members - then I wouldn't worry. But if you have a lot of stifles, maybe you should consider changing something about the way you post.

- What is a Stifle Ratio?
- This is the number of total posts you have on the forums, divided by the total number of stifles you have. High numbers are good; low numbers indicate that you are rapidly offending people...
Stifling Others
- This guy is driving me nuts! I never want to read another one of his posts!!!
- Well, then - in the forums, click on his membername to go to his Profile page...
...scroll down until you see the "Stifle" button, and press it.
If you've done it right (and how can you mess it up?), the stifled member's name will turn grey...
...and so will all of his posts in the forums (when you are logged in).
- OK - now I've stifled so many people, I can't remember them all.
- You can see the list of who you have stifled by going to your own Profile page.
- Now I regret this. I really want to know what he just said.
- OK, click on his membername again to go to his Profile page...
and click the "Unstifle" button.
- Who is the most-stifled person on TMP?
- You can see the "Most Stifled" list here (click on the "Most Stifled" button in the left column).
- Can I Stifle
The Editor ?
- Yes... but that also has the effect of Locking your account!
