Recommended here on [TMP], in this thread here: TMP link with a full listing of all the gangs in this thread: TMP link Now, suitable miniatures in 28mm? There are plenty of post-apocalyptic and near future options, but what about gritty 1970s-1990s gangers? Any recommendations? Post your recommendations in this thread (since it's about miniatures and Plus Boards and Regular boards can't talk to each other): TMP link Thanks! |

Our group never got around to it, but I wanted to use excess SYW figures for a Necromunda gang of reenactors' descendants (adding suitable weaponry). How's that? |

It's fun in a surreal sort of way
there's no attempt to make it seem like a real city
it's all kind of dream-like. Makes a good double feature with 'The Wanderers'. |

I'd double feature it with Streets of Fire. . |

Warriors and Streets of Fire would make a *great* double feature. I need to paint up a suitable mini to use as Diane Lane/Ellen Aim: YouTube link (Yes, I know it wasn't Diane singing, but it was her up on the big screen.) |

I posted this in another thread, too, but it doesn't hurt to repeat it. Grenadier did a few interesting 3-packs of Cyberpunk gangs about 20 years ago: Maelstrom Gangers (Road Warrior types), Solos (classic cyberpunk assassin types), Voodoo Boys (Rasta types), Bozos (yup, clowns): link While long OOP, the minis still turn up fairly often on Ebay. Best of all, they were *huge* back then, and they fit in fairly well with 28mms today. Any of those would be fairly easy to build on today. For example, there are at least half a dozen companies making armed clown miniatures. I know at least one gamer who did a clown gang, bought a small Hot Wheels car, and painted it in garish colors to use as a clown car. Any mini with dreads could join the Voodoo Boys. There are also dreadlocked female minis out there, so maybe chang ethe name to Voodoo Nation (pronounced "nay-shon" mon). |

Great cult movie! I loved since I first saw it on the big screen. I picked up the big anniversary vesrion on Dvd. Watch out for the Lizzies! They are deadly. ;-D |

Actually, I think "Escape from New York" is a good double-feature with this. |

Actually, I think "Escape from New York" is a good double-feature with this. Why skimp? Make it a triple feature. |

Streets of Fire is a great movie with an awesome soundtrack. Diane Lane is smoking in the movie. |

It was based on the events at Cunaxa and the Anabasis by Xenophon. |

Hi Actually, there was a effort in the 70s to settle gang violence by having a big meeting hosted by the NYC government with the heads of the various gangs meeting. And their was a killing that broke up the peaceful meeting. And the shooter was hunted by a lot of people. The movie sort of took anabasis and this real event and stretched it to guys in baseball suits and makeup on rollerskates. But it was inspired by an actual gang conference in new york. Rocky |

They also had a gang meeting on a Hill Street Blues episode, Rocky, to divide the (unnamed) city up into specific gang territories to stop turf wars. As I recall the waning Irish gang was cut out entirely as they were no longer a player as they had been in the past. |
