well you can't have an alien world matakishi.com/alienworld.htm without some humans to colonise it so I've stated making some colony buildings. The first three with instructions can be seen here:

The colony and the alien scenery will progress in tandem so check back often :)

Man, those buildings and plants are pretty sweet! I'm going to have to try cork instead of foamboard. And just to fit in…

Those are really cool. I still wish I could find a source for the cork tile at decent rates here in the U.S. I think the new line of stuff from Antenociti's Workshop has to be some of the best Sci Fi terrain ever produced. As always great work!

Nice use of cork tiles!

Terminator,

Go to your local hardware store and ask for cork tiles used for bulletin boards. You should be able to get a packgae of 12" x 12" tiles, which is how I got them from a local hardware store here in Mississippi.

Very slick looking. Matakishi puts us to shame on a regular basis.

DeanMoto05 Oct 2006 4:22 p.m. PST

Nice work (as always). All I want to do is build one (1) terrain board! grin

Very impressive, as always.

Despite a busy day at work I have rushed home full of energy and built the Colony control centre.

Next is a vehicle shed, landing pad, uplink tower, fuel dup and about six lengths of perimeter fencing.

After this I will stop and have a think :)

Matakishi I have a question, it appears you use laser cut chemi-wood for the rounded doors, can I ask what laser you use and what settings?

cheers

Matakishi06 Oct 2006 4:11 p.m. PST

I buy them from Litko :)

jimbibbly07 Oct 2006 1:43 a.m. PST

Matakishi07 Oct 2006 11:16 a.m. PST

Looking good as always.

Hey Matakishi,

Ever used anything like these Sterilite mini trays (#1615)?

I plan to add doors and to cover the openings (from the inside) with foam sheets like these:

They would be the absolute cheapest buildings (in cost and time) I have ever considered doing. I will let you know how it works out.

They almost like the buildings in Ghosts of Mars:
