The blogger should have taken his own advice, and not gamed this scenario. It IS too close to home, especially in the USA
circa 2018.
He wanted to avoid first world versus "black and brown people", then completely ignores the likely result of that happening in a US civil war. Ethnic/religious/racial/political cleansing. Killing of prisoners. Starvation. Disease. Massive, world wide economic breakdown. Intervention from foreign powers.
THIS is NOT a GAME.

That part could definitely be left out, and you still end up with a potentially good gaming premise.

As for the date, I would set it for a few years later.

But if it's not your cup of tea, don't game it. Game the first ACW, if you like, or something else that you would find more interesting and less objectionable.

Lol, the way he set the stage for the 2nd ACW, the Revolutionaries/Rebels would lose in record time against the militias and nationalists. Not many would want, or even know how, to use a weapon, judging by the majority of anti-POTUSes around my neck of the woods, anyway.

Pan Marek, you could say the same about WW1, WW2, Vietnam, GW2, Afghanistan etc etc. They all involved real people and the things you describe, it's all just a game. Anyway, I like the figures and terrain. Nice idea.

The guy who's doing this project is obviously a typically misguided Leftist who doesn't understand that Hispanic people, or"brown people" as he calls them, are *very* integrated with "white people" in the USA. My mother is Hispanic and my father is a Slovak. Across the street an Italian man is married to a Hispanic woman. Two doors houses down, a Hispanic man is married to a White woman. This is not unusual. I believe that most of us are against illegal immigration as much as any law abiding citizen is. Race and national origin is not an issue for us. Breaking the law is. So Hispanics rising up to fight against people of European origin is just a Leftist fantasy.

This presentation has *highly* political overtones! Reading through it, you can see that he is so far left he's about to fall off the planet! And saying "As a certain silly Orange Man described them" doesn't make me want to game with him. Dunno if the guy is British, but if he is, he has a lot to say for guy who's country is in much worse shape than ours.

As for the scenario basis, ours are a lot worse in the basement OFM. If someone's gaming scenario makes you , you need to get your meds adjusted.
