Some suspect that the KKK and neo-Nazi groups were involved with the assassination in order to thwart the growing civil rights movement.

On a scale of 0 (low) to 10 (high), how likely do you think it is that racist groups were involved?

0 Zero.

It was Lee Harvey Oswald, a dedicated Communist, acting alone.

A 2 at best. While those opposed to civil rights had every reason to think that LBJ would not follow through with JFK's promises (which he did surprisingly), didn't LHO decry racism in America?

I can but ascribe this posting to be really reaching

But some people will always blame everything on race.

Can we set up a special board for all of this political and or speculative non-war game discussions? Getting way out of hand to me.

I cannot accept that the Commies and the Nazis could share the grassy knoll.

I am with princeman. Politics is a DH bait even if the editor is the one posing the topic. It really has no place on the splash page crowding out discussions about new Carlist leader and personality figs now available.

If we do this, then perhaps these posts should go too since, let's face it, any claims to wargaming relevance they may have are tenuous at best and non-existent at worst:

Sorry if it seemed like I'm picking on you, Dan.

The fact is that, in the final analysis, these JFK assassination posts from Bill are no more-and no less-related to wargaming than many others that we give a free pass on this site.

Most neo-nazis and klansmen don't have the brainpower to blow their own noses, much less pull off the assassination of a president, so for me…

Hmm. Now WHY in the world would I ever think that! Just because 5 out of your 6 examples are mine?

Here, you missed another Cold War topic I started:

PS. So, is Sci Fi too speculative then? And are the Cold War and Pulp Boards too full of covert missions, espionage and other intrigue?

A fair enough & quite accurate statement. However, on the other hand the Mafia……

Still, I think LHO was a nutter, operating alone.

All of these JFK questions should be condensed into a single poll and include the Illuminati Trilogy answer of "all of the above".

Those books nailed it. Every suspected possible assassin was there in Dallas, and as each and every one of them raised their rifle to take aim, they heard a shot ring out from somewhere else.

And on the other hand, maybe a couple of the posters should just stay off the modern boards. That way they can stick to the topics they consider "safe" and have "wargaming relevance".

I enjoy Dan's "what if's". Dan generates some of the most thought provoking threads on TMP (No slight intended Tango as you also provide a lot of interesting stuff). Keep up the good work.

Also, if you problems with this thread flag the OP. grin

28mm Fanatik, your opinion is appreciated, but TMP has always had an open forum for wargaming-related discussions, and wargaming encompasses Pulp, sci-fi, and alt-history.
