Well, if you look at it the right way, that's Poul Anderson's "The High Crusade." Though something more along the lines of "The Ransom of Red Chief" might be fun. ("I don't care what the regs say, no tracer in this one! I don't ever want to see it again!!") Damon, Henry Kuttner and CL Moore did some in which the aliens WERE the hillbillies. Leigh Brackett did it once too, but she did it straight, while the Kuttner & Moore clan--the Hogbens--are pretty clearly the country cousins not invited to the Addams Mansion. |

Excellent leads! The aliens were the Hillbillies? Lol. This is the kind of reception I'd expect they would get from rural folk, specially up in the US Midwest, the South and the Appalachians (Hillbillies), and from "Preppers" everywhere. I guess that, should the visitations turn out to be hostile, they are indeed our first like of defense! :)

A few years ago there was a group who used "SKANK" rules in a game called Triple Abduction. A politically incorrect game to say the least and involved three alien species. Pics were on the website. I haven't seen it for quite a while. |
