Or do they look like Minoans, Vulcans or Sahara's Tuareg? Or like Fantasy Elves? Or something else?

This question goes also for figures of humanoid tribes on any other arid planet you game.

Just curious.

My Martians are for John Carter games & are mostly Bronze Age figures with Parroom Station minis as Therns & so are closest to "Minoan" style (with Amerind complexions) if I properly interpret your use of these pictures.

Maybe like this?

If I ever get around to it, mine will probably look like Aztecs or Incans.

Friend of mine just used GW's Kroot, painted red or green.

Kroot ARE a time-honored ersatz-Cytherean Parrotmen. However, plenty of folk have used them on Mars, even to the point of bashing four arms on some.

Unfortunately, GW paint jobs do make one doubt one's outcome…

MY Martians dress like proper panthans. The cadre are Heritage "John Carter of Mars" figures, supplemented with Space 1889, Paroom Station, Cold Earth and whatever else I could find prepared to ride across a dead sea bottom to raid a caravan, sack a city or rescue a princess.

Some day to see Jekkara Old Town. Or across the desert to Sinharat.

My SPACE 1889 Martians look like SPACE 1889 Martians, my Barsoomians look like Barsoomians.

In fact, my SPACE 1889 Martians look a lot like ex-Grenadier Elves, for some reason…..

I've been supplementing my Space:1889 Martians with converted plastic Perry fuzzy-wuzzies. A project sadly dormant. Shave down the side of their hairdos and you get quite a good Martian quiff. Exotic daggers courtesy of GW Dark Elves, muskets courtesy of Wargames Factory Zulus.

Mrinku,

Wow! Please share some pictures when you get them painted up.

My 15mm Red Martians come from Black Hat Miniatures. I guess you would say they have a "Minoan" feel.

My 28mm Red Martians are a mix of Space 1889 and Parroom Station (oh, how I miss those!).

Skin tones are terra cotta.

Oh, and I second the well done on those converted Fuzzy Wuzzies, mrinku!
