Not even a blank space below your name. I mean the thread exists but your specific reply on it is completely gone, including your name and time stamp, as if it had never posted at all. I spotted one today. Am I the only one who has noticed that happening? If so, it must be a new development. Either it's the ultimate TMP bug or it's the ultimate in stealth-editing. :) Dan PS. But if I'm the only one seeing things, that's okay. I've been called crazy before, many times. For now I'm gonna call it "the Gaslight bug". |

I noticed it too, Dan. I did my annual 'Happy B'day' post in the Lounge for the OFM. There were quite a few well-wishers who joined in. The post disappeared ('there is no topic with this ID number' was the message) and when I PM'd the editor (the assistant) I got the reply that no action had been taken by the editorial staff to remove it. The post title is still there (look under July 2 'It's THAT time – AGAIN !') but still yields the 'no topic with this ID number' result. Superbug ??? |

Ed, I've seen that no topic ID thing before. This is different. Example: TMP link The thread exists (on the main page as well as on the sub-boards), and seems to be working just fine and accepting new comments from others, but now there's no sign that I ever replied on it. And I know I did. I saw my comment there a couple of times earlier. Dan PS. My post used to be between these: 18 Jul 2017 12:18 p.m. PST (Grand President Gunfreak) 18 Jul 2017 10:24 p.m. PST (Tango01) My post should be in that 10-hour window. |

I noticed that happening on this thread: TMP link A few of the posts may have been of a controversial nature, but most were not. I'm not upset mind you, because nothing eliminated was of crucial importance. I just wanted to insure you that you are probably not loosing your mind. Kevin |

Kevin, Well, at least with those you can still see that some member posted something that was later replaced with "Snip" or with the single word "Deleted". Dan PS. So I guess the jury is still out on whether I'm losing my mind. :) |

Maybe the post was deleted and not reflected as such in the article? I have noticed this before when someone posts something possibly controversial. Sometimes it shows as deleted and other times it just disappears. Mike |

Mike, So the comment has simply disappeared at times before! Good to know. Thanks for confirming that. Dan |

Thank God, I just got this from Editor Gwen … "Your post about jailing a President has been removed, it breaks the forum rule against current politics." LOL. So I guess that stealth-editing IS a real thing! I'm not losing my mind, and this is not the work of some weird new random Gaslight bug at all. It's more like a "Servpro" feature (that company's motto is "like it never even happened") but for selective posts on an existing thread. Dan |

Hmmph. a rule against "current politics" seems mighty, MIGHTY subjective when it comes to deciding what is and isn't allowed. |

Piper909, The title of the thread is "Free Bill", if that helps. Anyway, it was wrong for me to make the joke. I know, because I would have hit the complain button if the roles had been reversed. I'm just happy to see that I wasn't losing my mind and that some selective posts had indeed disappeared without leaving the customary "Deleted" gaps in the thread. Dan |

Hmm. I think this other thread also had a couple of its posts "ServPro-ed": TMP link Comments that used to show with the word "DELETED" on them are now completely gone from the page. And so now a couple of the comments that used to be at the top of the second page show up at the bottom of the first one. Dan |
