For the later italian wars, I'm thinking specifically of the battle of Marignano

With some green stuff additions it's possible to get something suitable;

Some of the mounted cavalry could be used as they are but you'd need to mix them with other ranges.

The infantry as they are do look a little early but it depends what you have in mind, they're not Landsknechts but you could mix a few in as Swiss / French perhaps.

It was this issue that pushed me into sculpting for which that range is good as dollies to add stuff to though I appreciate that's not a solution for everyone.

I would say no. Mirliton has a great range for this I think. Venexia used to have a great one as well. I think Vexillia bought the ranges.

I think The Assult Group also has ranges.

Whatever happened to the plastic landsknect range? Didn't Warlord buy them?

If they come it will be years… at least that's the latest scuttlebut

No Perrys plastics for Marignano, especially not for Landsknecht, though you can use some of their Italians for the Venetian army and the Italian contingents. In 1515 the military fashion already followed the Swiss and Landsknecht style to some degree. You can use Artizan, Foundry or Pro Gloria/Warlord Games for most of the Landsknechts (which make up the majority of the French army, some 17000) and Swiss.

I'm making a unit of artizan landsknechts, but my next landknecht will be pro Gloria. I'll probably use TAG italian, pikes, crossbow, arqebusers for generic forces.

But who makes the best swiss?

If I recall, at least one of those links provided above has some comment regarding Swiss.

Probably Artizan since they have dedicated line of Swiss. Overalll I like the figures I don't like the hand position holding the pike.

In my 40 years of wargaming I find people much more flexible than many posters on the TMP. If I was building a Swiss army I would start with the Perry mercenary box, and might add some Foundry and/or Artizan figures for variety (assuming they are of similar size). I would use them for the Burgundian Wars and the early Italian Wars. I can't imagine anyone I play with having a complaint.
