This could have been a really interesting thread. Jemina/RMD, off the top of your head, how close is the Airfix Buffalo to the LVTs used in the Rhine crossing? |

I'm not familiar with the Airfix model, sorry. There have been quite a few fairly recent threads on LVTs, so I'll try to dig them out. Essentially, the vast majority of Buffalo IVs in NW Europe had Polsten 20mm guns fitted, with side-mounted MGs (usually .50s, but some .30s were also seen. The side-mounted guns also often featured guns-shields or open-backed box turrets. Buffalo IIs were also employed, though in smaller numbers. The Buffalo IIs were usually mixed in to Buffalo IV squadrons, though in their own distinct troops. |
